Pantheon: The Third Age - Registration Thread
Moderator: Xar
Name and Titles: Tawhiri-matea, the Sky Lord
Court: Sunset
Major Domain: Weather
Holy Symbol: A tiki statue (content of the statute varies depending)
Dogma: Regardless of type or usage, all power originates from paradox and contrasts. What better example for such sources of power than the Weather? Have you never felt rain upon your face, and yet seen the sun shining high above you? Are the mightiest of snowstorms not made up of the tiniest crystals of ice? Can gale winds not turn into gentle whispers? Do deserts not go for years in the savage grip of drought, and then are suddenly drenched in a torrential rain? I can lead you to the power of such contrast and paradox. More power than you can imagine.

From a single Acorn, a mighty Oak
I just figure that, for a God who represents a monotheism, it doesn't make much sense to be aligned to other gods. I'd prefer to play unaligned, if I can.Xar wrote:
You can be a God of the Sun taking the Sun domain, which would put you in the Sunrise Court. Since the Courts are not tied to alignments, you can be in the Sunrise Court even if you are a vengeful, angry deity.
It is doable. I guess it doesn't really show in the rules, but if a domain you pick is aligned with a specific Court, it means you can't enter the opposite one, but you can still be neutral.Montressor wrote:I just figure that, for a God who represents a monotheism, it doesn't make much sense to be aligned to other gods. Well then, perhaps there is reason to establish this world as one of my strongholds...
Name: Vrees
Court: As though I would do anything that might cause anyone to associate me with any of these weaklings...
Major Domain: Fear
Holy symbol: The face of a coward twisted in terror
Dogma: Follow me, or you will know Fear like you never imagined. But if you follow me, I will give you power over all others. You will rule the world!

If so, I'd be pleased to have:
EZTLICOATL, God of the Sun, Lord of the Sacrifice, the great Blood Snake.
Court: Unaligned (not sure how this works. The god would rely off human sacrifice, and would be considered angry and vengeful. I'm just not one for playing to alignments, I tend to be more ambiguous).
Major Domain: God of the Sun (so I assume that's Fire).
Holy Symbol: The sun, or any snake.
Dogma: A monotheism. All other gods are considered false, demonic, and charlatans who lead believers astray. Eztlicoatl is the One God who must be sated with blood sacrifice to garuntee prosperity and succour. He favours those who kill in his name, and offer the blood and flesh of another to him. He also favours scholars, who enlighten the way to the acceptance of Him as the One God.
An odd conception for a game called Pantheon, I know, but it strikes me as a fun idea to play.

Agreed!!Devaguhya wrote: I have changed to Sunset as well, we need some sort of balance ... and the Sunset Court was feeling drafty!!
Now at least two of us are there!!
Good can occur at the Setting of the Sun as well as at its Rising!!
So far I now see one in Sunrise, two in Sunset, and several neutral. Let's now make that two in Sunrise (driving all to Sunset, I'm sure

Name: O-gon-cho, The Flickering Flame
Court: Sunrise
Major Domain: Light
Race: Centaurs
Holy symbol: A dragon's egg containing a fiery cosmos that also is a draconic embryo (...I will somehow work this in...)

Dogma: Where Will and Freedom meet, seek the Heart of the Flame. For Will and Freedom bring the Heart of the Flame to Light.
...thinking of taking Fire as a minor domain instead of Air, if no one claims it, since Light is in the House of Fire...

Good words, Aarklar.
