Fatal Revenant debuts at #12 on NY Times Bestseller List

Post by burgs »

I believe ROTE debuted at 22 or 26. Hopefully this is also an indicator of improved sales.

Martin's A Storm of Swords debuted at twelve 7 years ago, and A Feast for Crows next debuted at #1.

This is great news. IIRC ROTE peaked at #14.

It actually went: 21, 18, 21 and then I think slipped off the list. So FR is doing heaps better.

I thought ROTE peaked higher than that. Oh well.

Clearly this is the result of my and burgs' extreme grassroots marketing campaign :D

I couldn't agree more. My review on Amazon really did the trick. ;-)

On the NYT list, it has an asterisk beside it. Scrolling down, I learned that this means its sales are indistinguishable from the book above it. That means it's a virtual tie for 11! Hopefully, it will move up and crack the top 10.

This is sort of an odd way to judge the book's popularity, but it's an interesting statistic: Several weeks ago, I was blogging about something and used the word "torrent." Since then, I've been getting quite a few hits from Google by people searching for album or book torrents.

Searches for Fatal Revenant comprise 14 out of 21 of those hits.

This is good news. I was really worried that SRD's latest book was hurting, sale-wise. Hopefully FR will fare better in the long-term than Runes; old fans might come out of the woodworks if they hear it really delivers (as opposed to the disappointment that many found in Runes).
