WKRP in Cincinnati
I'm talking about the real one, not the attempted revival. The funny, endearing one starring Loni Anderson and Howard Hesseman, and all those other weird characters who try to run a rock station.
I nabbed the 1st season, woohoo! Opened it today, and saw Andy and Momma square off about the new rock format; Dr. Johnnie Fever transform his style from snores to flourishes within the space of 5 minutes; the beauteous Jennifer demand a raise when she gets 3 phone calls but perform miracles of personnel maneuvering; and a suicidal Les recite Hamlet on a window ledge. I would still be watching if it weren't bedtime.

That was a GREAT show. Somewhere in here there's a link posted to a YouTube clip of the Thanksgiving show - where they were dropping live turkeys from a helicopter. And Mr. Carlson at the end saying, "I swear to God, I thought turkeys could fly." LOL!!! I'll have to nab season 1!
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

There is another thread about the show, but it was so good I'll leave this one as well.
The original music is missing from the DVDs. In certain cases the scene was removed entirely, like the wonderful interchange between AC and Johnny about Pink Floyd's "Dogs". It's gone. Likewise, there are certain scenes that are defined by their music (Les putting on the toupee to Foreigner's "Hot Blooded"), and are lost on the new DVDs. Jennifer's doorbell chime has been changed too.
I was a fan of the show during its original run, and I watched it a lot in syndication. I was blessed to have watched as much as I could on YouTube before 20th Century Fox had it yanked. I cannot watch the DVDs.
I would have happily paid $100 per season to cover the music licenses.

No doubt. WKRP easily had the best ensemble cast ever. I truly love the show, and was literally a syndication junkie when it was still shown.
But releasing the DVDs without the original music intact was (in my opinion) giving the fans back something broken.

Is the "Phone Cops" episode in the first season? That was my favorite.
