WHO WILL HELP EDIT MY SHORT STORY PUBLICATION?
My fellow KW'ers.
I have decided to publish my collection of shorts stories to be given to friends and family this Christmas. I am asking for your help. I need volunteers to edit each story before I send them to the publisher. I am using cafepress.com to produce a paperback quality book. For anyone who would like to help I will give you an editing credit for each story you work on and I will send you (signed if you like) a copy of the finished book. I’m quickly running out of time so I need help as soon as possible. Megaton dAN has graciously agreed to write a forward for inclusion. I hope to have the collection finished by December 15th at the absolute latest. Knowing my work as I do, I suspect that many good suggestions will be offered by the editors and I will need time to write the changes. Please let me know by posting to this thread or sending me a PM.
Thanks Very much,

I'd be happy to help, but must warn you that when it comes to editing, I have been called a grammar nazi and worse.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

What I imagine for editing my fiction is essentially 2 fold. 1. To correct obvious grammar errors. Bad punctuation. Paragraphing errors. Etc.Murrin wrote:I haven't tried editing before, I may be interested. What exactly does the task entail?
2. Logic, continuity errors and creative suggestions.
That’s about it.
