I'm sorry to hear about your case of blindness, HLT.
And for the record, what you call 'dead-on classic artist' I call 'completely ripping off Rich Buckler and Joe Sinnot'.

You are one sneaky bastard! ;)

You pick a black and white **preliminary** piece of artwork and compare it to a color one (of a younger version of Sue to boot!).

I wasn't sneaking anything; that was the only pic I could find on the net. You're welcome to post a better one; I did manage to find a few more just now:

Erik Larson:

Steve McNiven:

Frank Cho:

Again, I'm not being sneaky; there's just a bevy of artists out there who draw Sue tons better than Larson (Byrne, Perez, Pacheco, Kirby, Jim Lee, Jae Lee, etc.).

Just finished reading WWH 5... I guess there was no other way to end it, though I'm a bit disappointed (
Spoiler
I like the Sentry character, but I think he was only faithfully rendered in the two miniseries, and is being grossly inaccurately portrayed, both in character and power, in both Mighty Avengers and WWH
).

On the other hand, Pak has really delivered a great Hulk story... and re-reading the first few issues of Strange Tales with Dr. Strange in it, I even found out that the demon Zom made its first appearance (with maces instead of hands and all) in Strange Tales #156, where among his first words were "Let the worlds within and the worlds without tremble in their orbits", which is the title of the story in WWH #4 (
Spoiler
in which Dr. Strange drinks the essence of Zom and attacks the Hulk
)... I was really impressed by how Pak dug into comics history to find this little piece of information!

Truth be told, I'm wondering how they're going to solve the continuity nightmares... I mean, for example, what was revealed in Illuminati #5:
Spoiler
if Black Bolt was a skrull impersonator in that issue, was he also a skrull during WWH? And if he was, what kind of inhuman control does he have, that after such a terrifying beating on the Hulk's part, he did not even show a hint of his Skrully countenance? Also, if he was a skrull, why did he accept the beating in the first place, instead of trying to escape or block the Hulk along with his companions - after all, in Illuminati 5 we see that two superskrulls are a match for the Illuminati, so it would make sense to imagine that the skrulls would think they could be a match for the Hulk

As always, they've taken it all way too far. I haven't even read anythings in weeks. Trying to keep it all straight is impossible and depressing.

Not me. They just bring the dead characters back, and that just makes the whole 'death' thing look silly. it also makes it way too apparent the comic companies are only in this for the money when they do these stupid crossovers with huge implications at the beginning and crappy powderpuff endings. What did we get out of this? Is Sentry dead, or just until next time? Is Banner going to stay captured, and if so, why? And whaty about Rick Jones? Is he dead? or is he going to be the Red Hulk? Why do we even need a Red Hulk? Were sales down and demographics polled? Is there a Rainbow Hulk Coalition in the future?

Give me a break; this was a stupid crossover, made worse by the even stupider Civil War crossover that preceded it. Marvel is a mess, and I'm surprised and disappointed at myself for not trading my comics in for something I can use, like a cool amp.

normally i would agree with you. but this is the Hulk. he should accidently kill more people than the Punisher at mardi Gras. I wanted Stark dead. but I expect he will be exposed as a Skrull.

I will agree that both companies are a mess. slaughtering heroes with no regard to plotlines or logic. i am down to Fables and miniseries,

Actually, this is not the Hulk you grew up with. This is the intelligent Hulk, and I applauded both his restraint and his reasons for not killing Stark, Richards, Strange, etc. What I thought was totally stupid was he decided to level New York instead. It seemed inconsistant for a guy who wanteds to prove himself better than those he considered killers. Of course, Miek then turned on him, and in the subsequent fight, admitted he witnessed what really happened with the spaceship on Planet Hulk, and that pretty much absolved Stark & gang of any malevolence. I think the story should have stopped there; there really was no reason for the final battle to happen, other than to set the stage for yet another idiotic crossover, coming soon in '08!

another crossover? they haven't even cleaned up the mess from Civil War. and the Skrull takeover. blech. and where do you go from the multicrossover huge event anyway? adn will NYC be destroyed in all titles? or will it magically get fixed? i would be pissed if i were writing a smaller title, mapped out and all. and then Marvel/DC tells me i'm part of some grand event.

Dude, as far as I'm concerned, Marvel still hasn't cleaned up the mess from the first Secret War.

that's why i like Kingdom Come and the Golden Age. they were set outside the main books. more could happen and nothing had to be retconned.

I just read #5.
I liked it.
But I was hoping that they'd reveal who set the bomb.

I'm assuming that by 'set the bomb', you mean who made the spaceship blow up. It's revealed during the fight with Miek.
