Cloverfield (01-18-08)

Post by Usivius »

heh, very interesting and potentially the hottest ticket of the new year.... if done properly.
The 'underground' campaign for this is quite interesting too, if you have time to spend searching and prowling like they expect.

This is a 'monster movie' a kinda throwback to the old Godzilla stuff, but apparently Abrams wanted something new. So far what I have seen shows great potential ... but of course we know the power of a well-edited promo...
hehehe

anyone else heard about this?

I saw the teaser trailer before it had the Cloverfield name attached to it. Already exciting looking. I'm a fan of Lost, so I might very well enjoy this. But we'll see. Already looks freaky, and I likes me some freaky.

Its been the hottest single topic over at Aint It Cool for a while.

I need to hear more before I believe in this. Abrams is reknowned for hype before substance (sometimes he delivers, but as often as not he doesn't).

As a general rule of thumb, I've found that any trailer that just shows you lots of cool shots but doesn't give you any idea what the story is about ends up being a bad movie with some cool moments.

We saw a trailer in theatre, and it does pique ones interest. My wife leaned over halfway through and whispered, "Blair Witch". Certainly, the production values look far better than that, but the shaky cam tends to make my wife nauseous, and a whole movie of it would be a bit much for me too.

I saw the trailer - it looks rather interesting. But, at certain parts, I kept thinking: "Can anyone say, The Host?"
