Why are Searches so sketchy?
I *knew* that Searches were broken...
Too many times I noticed that there were new posts, posts that did NOT show up when I clicked on "new posts since last visit". Even though I was darn sure that they WERE new since my last visit.
Now I sort of have some proof of something. Or at least evidence.
I was searching for the thread "Bush Crooks and Other Political Criminals". So I went to Search, entered "Bush" to search for, clicked Titles Only (Thank you again!), selected Think Tank.
I got seven entries. None of them was the "Bush Crooks" one.
If I search for "Crooks" (single word) (tank only, title only) I don't find any threads at all.
(If I search for "Criminals", (tank only, title only) I find one thread, titled "Random / General News". I don't even UNDERSTAND that.)
So then I posted my new reply in the "Bush Crooks" thread. Then I clicked on "new posts since last visit". I know darned well that the thread should appear because I just posted in it. (And yes, this works most of the time.) But the thread did not appear.
So ... the software engineer in me started pondering.
It looks like we have some threads that are "immune" to searches. No matter how you search for them (by newness, by title) you can't find them.
Does anyone else get the same results with the same searches I posted above? I'm curious.
I knew the search mechanism was clunky. But I didn't think it downright didn't work.

I used to be able to find most KW posts via Google but that doesn't seem to work anymore either.
