Tonight I experimented, and it had potential but was definitely NOT right!
Made potato and carrot mash (with added olive oil, lemon juice, and lots of chopped fresh parsley). Added too much lemon juice. served with butter - should have made a gravy.
served with broccholi (hard to get that wrong

)
and pork chops, grilled until done then topped with layers of grated cheddar, chopped fresh sage, and bramley apple sauce. I cheated using the apple sauce, cos I had half a jar left in the fridge - it would've been much better if I'd bought a Bramley apple and chopped that. The sauce was too sweet.
Ah well, I'll know better next time!
