What are you doing/did you do this weekend?
Moderator: Orlion
Well, I'm still lounging about in my pyjamas. I've been reading since I got up this morning. As soon as my favorite pair of jeans come out of the washer I'm showering and going out to mail my bills, get some lunch, and pick up baking supplies. Then it's back home to bake holiday goodies. Tonight I'm babysitting my 3-week-old god-daughter.
It's still new and fun. Heh. . .

With snow and freezing rain, combined with winds of up to 35 mph according to the weather service, it's a good time to watch a movie. I got Flags of Our Fathers to watch yet from my Netflix queue. Later, I'll try to watch some of the Missouri - Oklahoma game. If Oklahoma wins, under the convoluted BCS system, Illinois may have a chance of going to the Rose Bowl.

Friday night = Went from work to the airport to pick up my mom, who came in from Cleveland.
Saturday = Did a side job at a friend's house. His kitchen circuits weren't working.
Sunday = Going to build some shelves in the living room for my wife and then get down Christmas stuff from the attic.
And finish my homework. (2 Chapters with review questions and then Codebook quiz)

Got about 6 inches of snow saturday afternoon and evening, followed by a good hour of freezing rain. Which was nice.
I had to help a guy who got his car stuck in front of my house on saturday night. I could tell watching him driving up the street that he didn't know what he was doing, driving in the snow, and was just waiting for him to get stuck. It turned out that he really didn't know what he was doing, didn't know how to get his car into 1st gear, didn't have a shovel, didn't have snow tires, expected the residential streets to be clear as soon as the snow stopped, etc... but it really wasn't his fault. He just moved to the area from Africa (didn't ask where) 3 months ago, and is a professor at the university here in town, and had never seen snow before.
Anyway, we got him free, but it was a little sketchy for a while, as I had to push his sedan while he was driving, and I'm not a very large guy
. But we got him going again. He thanked me profusely and then called me his "angel".
It was sorta sweet, in a kind of creepy, funny sorta way.

Had a birthday today. CMJ wanted IHOP so we drove 20 miles to the one in San Bruno. Afterward we went to Malibu Grand Prix and played miniature golf, video games, and went bumper-boating then came home and cooked a great meal, zactly what I wanted.

Or alternately, you can go back to college *and* do nothing but what you're doing now, and pretty soon the college won't let you come back at all, and your evil plan will have worked perfectly.Lord Foul wrote:I'm still on Xmas vacation and will be till the 7th. Ah, a month of laziness (with some jogging to keep the pounds off), video game playing, and reading a new Covenant book. Maybe I'll just quit college and do it all year!

You're right. I should pay them back, anyway: when I got in the top 10 percent of my class, all I got was a certificate and a pin. And what did I get for being the Vice President of the English honor society? Mandatory poetry readings. Argghh, college students reading poetry!aliantha wrote:Or alternately, you can go back to college *and* do nothing but what you're doing now, and pretty soon the college won't let you come back at all, and your evil plan will have worked perfectly.Lord Foul wrote:I'm still on Xmas vacation and will be till the 7th. I'm gonna help my best friend choose a wedding gown. That should be fun.

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Last weekend was fun. I took pictures of Julie in the various gowns she tried on. This weekend we are stepping it up a notch. Terry and Heatherly are joining in the melee and Terry will be on video detail, recording Julie as she shakes her little tush on the catwalk and I am going to be Nigel Barker and head up the still photo department. Heatherly gets to coach.
