I think my favourite Christmas album is Winter Tales from Loreena McKennitt.

I just sampled some of her stuff on the iTunes store.
I like it.
I'll probably be picking that one up soon.
Thanks!

I found by accident both the Heat Miser and the Cold Miser songs while I was err.....no....when a "friend" of mine was illegally downloading Christmas music recently.
It's awesome.
Would you like me to sent it to you?

Rather odd, given that both Dee Snyder and J.J.French are Jewish.

I guess "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel" didn't rock hard enough.

That and you can't fit the words to 'Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel' to the tune of "No, we're not gonna take it."

That's a really good one. I also love Clyde McPhatter's White Christmas, the Joan Baez cover of Oh, Holy Night (sung in French), SHEdaisy's Jingle Bells. These pop into the top of my head.

And then there is Bob Rivers: Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire, Walking Round In Women's Underwear, I Came Upon a Roadkill Deer, The Buttcracker, Hark! The Hare-lipped Angels Sing........lots of good ones!

A Change At Christmas (Say It Isn't So), by The Flaming Lips

I know everything changes
Yeah, it's strange how time marches on
Maybe there'll be some time in the future
Oh, tell me I'm not wrong

Oh, if I could stop time
It would be a frozen moment just around Christmas
When all of mankind reveals its truest potential
And there is sympathy for the suffering
Yes, there is sympathy for those who are suffering

And the world embraces peace and love and mercy
Instead of power and fear
And as sure as I'm standing here
I swear it really does appear that a change comes over us
Yes, some kind of change comes over us

And it's glimpsed for one shining moment
And this change feels like a change that's real
But then it passes along with the season
And then we just go back to the way we were
Yes, we just go back to the way we were

Say it isn't so
Tell me I'm not just a dreamer
I'm talking with a friend and he knows how it ends
He says it's easier, that's just the way we are
That's human nature and that's just the way we are
Oh, say it isn't so!

Elvis's Christmas Album
Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker

null beat me to it, but the best song for me is the Bowie/Crosby version of Little Drummer Boy. It is quite moving.

Favourite album HAS to be Barenaked Ladies Christmas album from last year! Great stuff! From the classics (a hilarious version of Jingle Bells) to new 'classics' such as Elf Lament... (you would love that one Cail <wink>)

The Nutcracker is wonderful. I still get a kick about their introduction to it in Fantasia. "though The Nutcracker is rarely performed..."

This seems as good a place as any.

So you think you know Chr-stmas Carols?

I missed 3 out of 25. Not bad for a Jew.
You got 88% correct. You know your seasonal songs! Treat yourself to an extra slice of fruitcake

You got 72% correct. Not bad. You stand to be the life of any winter holiday party you attend, should caroling break out.

Well crap. That's what I get for thinking Chewbacca was part of a Christmas carol.

Is this new?! I've never heard this (and I am a *huge* fan) I have heard (and adore) Christmas at the Zoo.
