I kind of change with the seasons so I replace my desktop every 5 months or so...here's my new one
It's near Lynchburg VA...but pretty trippy (eh Pam?) if you ask me.

As far as my desktop goes, the laptop is still giving me the occasional unexpected stand-bye or dim screen problem, so I still have my settings where Syl suggested I set them, and currently have no theme at all.
Same as it ever was : no background, black, no shortcuts that aren't vital to everyday use. I'm a desktop minimalist (yes, I run XP in classic mode and disable all the animations and stuff).
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
-George Steiner
Sea: There's a cartoon in the newspapers here called "Pearls Before Swine". In one strip awhile back, an anemone walked in and had a conversation with Pig, in which it became clear that the anemone's name was Annie May and it was Pig's enemy. Finally, in the last frame, Pig yells something about "Annie May, my sea anemone enemy!" and Rat walks in and yells, "STOP!"
It was really funny.
Hmm. Maybe you had to be there.
My wallpaper at home is the shot of Batty and me with SRD that Creator took at Elohimfest. At work, it's a shot of the Rockies near Estes Park, CO, which I found online and clicked to set as wallpaper, and now I can't find the original to post a link to it. Ah well, sorry. I am pathetic.

The race bike I'm going to treat myself to once I can maintain 18mph for 4 consecutive hours on my mountain bike.
With this sucker I ought to jump to 21-22mph with no additional exertion. That'll put me at race pace (112 miles in 5 hours).
Now I just need to be able to swim 2.4 miles in open water in two hours and run a marathon in 5 hours, and I'm golden.
