Call it a family flick or a chick flick, but still, it was the best movie I have seen in a long while. I haven't laughed that much in any movie in years. The clean-up sing-song scene in the manhatten appartment was a riot. Disney took a risk, but still did a mostly tasteful parody of it's princess movies. A couple suprising moments, but I suppose it passed the test groups to keep in the final movie (eg, the chipmonk being scard ..er..uncontrollably.) The male lead, while having many good moments, was still rather dull and 2 dimentional throughout, but the actress who played Gizelle was so absolutley fantastic that I hope she gets a best actress nod.
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

I didn't expect much out of it, but Cailette and I really enjoyed it.

Surprisingly good. Once I shrugged off my "too cool for disney" teenage attitude, I really enjoyed it a lot. There was only a few moments I cringed for the cheese-factor, but overall it was really well done.

I thought it was fairly funny. My sides weren't exploding, or anything, but it DOES take a lot to make me laugh. A few good chuckles and a lot of smiling.A Gunslinger wrote:I am intrigued by this movie...was it as funny/clever as it seems? Were the songs good or schlocky? Was it TOO campy?
I also liked the songs. There were three main ones if I remember correctly, and all were well done. Sort of a parody almost on other Disney musical songs.
As for campy.... uhh.....yes? No?
