NVM = never mind
IMHO = in my humble opinion (I never use this one, as there's nothing humble about my opinion)
FTW = **** the world (I think, it might just be 'for')
STFU = shut the **** up
AFK = away from keyboard
thx = thanks
pls = please
sry = sorry
NSFW = not suitable for work
And a few gaming ones:
GG = Good game
WoW = World of Warcraft
EQ = Everquest
GW = Guild Wars
Inc = incoming
KOS = Kill on sight
LFG = looking for group
LFM = looking for more (players)
WTB/WTS = want to buy/sell
Ninja = not an acronym, but it's a shorter way of writing "you no good scummy thief"
BoP = Bind on pick-up
BoE = Bind on equip (it's proper BoE, I tell thee!)
pwn/pwnd/wtfpwnd = you get the idea...

'Humble' is not a word you encounter much in real life, therfore I (quite understandably) took this at first to mean "In my honest opinion". I still use it in that sense, because there's rarely anything humble about people's opinions, and because I think it makes more sense.Nav wrote:IMHO = in my humble opinion (I never use this one, as there's nothing humble about my opinion)
