Stupid DVD sales tactics are a hallmark of Sci-Fi channel shows. And when the franchise underperforms... cancelled. Noooo, couldn't be the fact that the DVDs are nearly impossible to purchase or that you move the scheduling around, air reruns at 3 am, and all that.

Didn't we see Starbuck as a young girl in a flashback? If so, they'd have to use the same actress or one very similar in appearance, or that would be a bit sloppy. And it would be a pretty big tour de force on the writers' part to make it fit her early history, I think.

I'm not sure. I haven't seen the first half of S3, and it's been a while since I watched S1 & S2. It's certainly an interesting idea though.

I really don't think Starbuck is a Cylon. She may be "the chosen one" but she isn't the last Cylon. (I think) But exploring the nature of the 4 we now know are Cylons is probably going to be a major part of this next season. (Tigh fought in the first war for God's sake!) I imagine the final Model could very well be the Cylon God.

I have four more episodes to go until I finish season three. Overall, it's not a bad season. Season two is the best so far, I might add.

I found Razor to be a flawed but very enjoyable special.
I have to say that the most attractive female in BSG would be Tory Foster - played by Rekha Sharma. I might be biased, as I think Indian women are the most beautiful women on the planet.

The Sci-Fi Channel confirmed on March 22, 2007 that Battlestar Galactica has been renewed for a fourth season of 20 episodes, an increase from the previously-announced thirteen episodes. The order — originally announced as a 22-episode commitment — which included the two-hour TV movie "Razor" which went back and told a story involving the Battlestar Pegasus.[9][10] and aired in the fourth quarter of 2007. The regular, 20-episode fourth season is rumored to be split into two halves — the first 10 episodes airing beginning in March 2008, and the second 10 installments possibly airing as late as 2009.[11]
Following the renewal announcement, there were rumors the upcoming season would be the final one, inspired in part by statements from series stars Olmos and Sackhoff.[12][13] Producer David Eick initially denied this, stating that no decision has been made over the show's future.[14] However, on May 31, 2007, Eick and co-producer Ronald D. Moore issued a press release announcing that the fourth season would conclude the series.[15][16] Executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick released a statement, saying, "This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end. Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. More recently, Moore acknowledged that due to the writers' strike, the series might not be completed.[17] Production was suspended on Nov. 16, 2007, all personnel have been laid off, and only 13 of the 22 episodes have been completed (including 2 episodes comprising "Razor"). The two high points of season 3 for me were Baltar's speech to the Chief about class struggle, and Lee's speech in the court room. I liked the season, though a few of the characters seemed to have very little to do. Season 2 has been the best so far, I think.

I don't know, I thought season two was very weak from the end of the Cain arc to the beginning of the rescue mission/New Caprica episodes (the show's writers have even said they were disappointed with episodes like 'Black Market'). The Cain arc itself was excellent though, I'll have to try and pick up Razor at the weekend. I've watched the first five EPs of season 3 now and although at first I thought the "One Year Later" thing was a bad idea, it has really revitalised the show.
If I had one criticism of BSG though, it would be that they sometimes write the humans as too beastly for their own good, to the point where disbelief is not quite suspended and everything becomes too obviously plot-driven. Prime examples:
I also like the Tory Foster character, she is very striking but also well written for. It would've been so easy to have introduced a new Billy (or not replaced him at all) but Tory's sharkish manner makes her very believable as a behind-the-scenes political mover. There is certainly no shortage of beautiful women on the cast of BSG though. Kandyse McClure is also very striking and Tricia Helfer's figure looks unnatural (muscular, waist too narrow, breasts too big etc) and so is perfect as our first humanoid Cylon. I think I'm probably the only one who has the hots for Racetrack though!

The 'Jury of Six' and the killing of Ellen Tigh. I can't believe they would execute somebody for being compromised in that manner, she represents a prime opportunity to feed misinformation to the cylons for starters.

Though I see what you mean in regards your comment in the spoiler tag, I think they did that story-wise to present a simple moral dichotomy...and give a ceratin character an excuse to become even more introspective and melancholy. And they did have some of the characters in the gang (later on the Galactica) start to have moral objections, which I thought was good.
On the issue of the humans being portrayed as sometimes beastly, I did really like:

The supposed guilt Adama has over 'starting' the war. Is it just me, or does the Cylon reaction to one fighter intruding in their space seem like a titanic over-reaction? Kind of mitigates the guilt over the mission, if you ask me.
