This chapter is simply brilliant!!! UKLG as good as she gets!! The best of all being what Av quoted:

That is a key (and my favorite) concept of Taoism: wu-wei. Non-action. Non-ado. The Tao abides in non-action, yet nothing is left undone. From The Tao of Zen, by Ray Grigg:

"When non-doing appears as inaction it is peaceful, silent, and still; when it appears as action it is thoughtless, reflexive, and intuitive."

...just thought the ideas kind of go together...

Once there was a young man who was confused. There was so much war, and hate, and evil in the world. He was deeply troubled. So one day he went to a self-proclaimed Zen Master, and asked him what to do. The Zen Master, smacking him upside the head, said, "Go to the old, condemned mansion to the north of town on the hill. There go into the dining room, and sit in the northwest corner and meditate there until midnight."

So the young man did as the Zen Master said. He went to the old, condemned mansion on the hill north of town, found the dining room, and there, in the northwest corner, on a pile of plumbing and fixtures that had fallen through from the bathroom on the floor above, he sat and began to meditate.

But his meditation was troubled. He wondered if he had judged the northwest corner correctly. He wondered how he would know it was midnight. He worried that the rest of the plumbing above him would fall down onto his head.

Suddenly, as the clock struck midnight, the plumbing above him fell down to join the plumbing below him, and, covered in offal, two men entered the room.

"Who is that?" Asked the First Man.
"Some say he is a Man who has Achieved Enlightenment." Replied the second man. "Others say he is a shit head."

Hearing this, the Young Man was Enlightened.
