Wow... I can't believe I read 13 pages of a stupid argument.

At least it seems to be over. :D

HAHA. It sucks working at a movie theater, eh? We both come back after holidays and we MISSED EVERYTHING. :D :)

Anyway, I'll have something up for Tawhiri-matea in a bit. I want to extrapolate more on the Talo Brothers.

I'm sorry I haven't been around for the last couple of weeks - I seriously underestimated the amount of time I would need to catch up with family and friends during the holidays! I'll do my best to catch up with Pantheon in the next few days, and to prepare the first turn, which hopefully should be out, in the worst case, by the end of next week. I apologize for the long delay, especially since this is the first turn, but I'm sure you understand how many things can pile up in three and a half months I haven't been home ;)

I would also like to comment somewhat on the discussion that went on in this thread. I don't want to re-open a can of worms, but I feel I need to mention that while it is nice to see other Watchers chime in from time to time, especially if they've been lurking for a while or if they partecipated in the other Pantheons, the comments thread should be reserved for players of the current Pantheon. It's for them to comment on what's going on in the game, as well as to discuss rules and out-of-character information. Those who are not players should refrain from posting here - or entering discussions and arguments about a game they are, after all, not playing.

Therefore, while I may accept the occasional (and I mean occasional) post, I have decided that, for the time being, Watchers who are not players and who post too often in this thread - especially if involved in arguments about the game - will find their posts deleted. While I appreciate the input, it is not any Watcher's place to argue how the game is played, if they're not playing it in the first place. I hope you understand why I'm saying this. Thank you, and a belated happy new year!

Look, since you have asked for this I will agree. However, in my defense, as a lot of my ideas are being used in the third age I believe I can venture my opinion now and then. But I won't get involved in any arguments. :)

If this had been policy from the beginning, I never would have been talked into joining the Game, nor Borderlands neither, as I posted in both comments threads with every intent of being a lurker...

~*~EDIT~*~

Somewhere there was a planning thread for Pantheon, launched long before the comments and Game thread for 1.0. I posted in there as well (IIRC, Pantheon was played in The Close instead of Mallorys on my suggestion), and was welcomed to do so, even though I stated from the beginning I was going to lurk.

Xar...I really, really disagree with this decision. Perhaps, as Creator suggested, there could be an "audience" comments thread then. But I honestly believe no one would have known of my interest in the Game if lurkers were told they were not welcome from commenting.

Welcome back, Xar. I hope you had a terrific time with your family and friends.

As you can see, we have been keeping ourselves busy. (by the way - when are we getting rid of the Santa smilies???? It doesn't fit in well with my goddess persona, heheheh)

Mennoly, I cannot quote the specific passage of Xar's post while I'm on my cell phone. Please read it again. It does NOT say non-players cannot say anything. It says certain types of comments are not welcome (Because if you want to help decide how the game should be played, you should play it.), and excessive commenting of any kind. We have never had anything close to excessive commenting from a non-player, so it is likely not a problem. Lore's comments on Nor Yekith's continuing presence on Eiran are more than welcome.

Fist...

I disagree. You reread it please.

That is not what I quoted of Xar's passage is saying. It clearly states:

Even if he goes on to say an occasional post may be allowed, I know I sure would hesitate about posting at all...

Yes, the paragraph you quoted explains the intent of the Comments thread. Just as, for example, a Yankees thread in the sports forum is intended to be about the Yankees. But we KNOW there will be posts about the Red Sox. :D Nobody really minds, and Yankees fans actually enjoy them now and again. But Xar's NEXT paragraph says that, even though it's ok, it CAN be overdone. And when it is, posts will be deleted. And further, because Pantheon is not just a discussion, but a game, there are other types of restrictions. But it IS ok for non-players to post in Comments.

C'mon, Menollly. Are we going to start yet another argument?

Xar very clearly says that he will accept the occasional post. It looks to me that he just doesn't want them posting too often as if they were playing the game.

If I recall correctly, YOU did not post often but occasionally.

Why do you disagree with that?

*sigh*

I would have preferred if Fist had PMd me rather than he and I discussing in front of everyone, as I do tend to misread and misinterpret things a lot.

But...OK.

Yes, I understand the difference. In his text Fist also pointed out that my comments as a lurker were not of the same nature as what spurred Xar's decision. But...I dunno. While I limited my comments at the time and kept more controversial discussions on the Game to PM (just ask Fist how much I overwhelmed his PM box regarding the Game) and eventually to the alliance site when I was invited to join even though I wasn't yet at the time a player, I never felt...censored from making comments in the comments thread if I had felt the desire to.

This decision just isn't sitting right with me. That's all.

right. pm's are a good thing, huh. i like pm's too. pm's are friendly.
pm's give you information without making you look or feel like a jackass in public huh. i like pm's.

i'm pretty sure i've mentioned before that pm's are a good and friendly thing, while public airing of disagreements, excoriation, or chastizement
only clog up the game and rules/comments thread and cause further
arguments and make people feel bad. um hm. i agree totally, menolly. 100%.

:haha:

I find this hysterical that everyone says we should use pm's when we disagree yet none of us are using them.

Not yet, but I may send you to the corner to sit on the hardwood floor and think about what is the real point of the game until your butt is numb.
