I'm eating well this week and then on Monday morning when my alarm goes off it's going to be like a Rocky movie with me.bloodguard bob wrote:Hey, me too! Cool.Stonemaybe wrote:No resolutions this year - but I haven't had a cigarette for one year and one day!
This years resolution is to burn off the impressive amount of chub I put on as a consequence of last years resolution.
(without the raw eggs though!)
I want to be 181 by the end of Feb.
(I was 191 when I hatched my plan. now I'm 189 so it's doable if I keep away from my kryptonite: Blue Berry Muffins)
I'll use this thread to post my progress as motivation.

I resolve to lose some weight, exercise more, and start studying for the recertifcation exam (ack!
) that I have to take this summer.

Hopefully next year I can say the same. Well, I had my last one on the 1st anyway. One day close to be being complete.bloodguard bob wrote:Hey, me too! Cool.Stonemaybe wrote:No resolutions this year - but I haven't had a cigarette for one year and one day!

1. Write something every weekday (when not impossible), even just scraps in notebook. (Weekends are optional.)
2. Eventually expand said writing so that it is always more than just scraps in notebook.
3. Get a job.
4. Lose weight.
5. Get my reading levels back above 20 books a year (2007's all-time low).
Number 1 I'm actually, for once, optimistic about.

It's do-able. I stopped 5 years ago and I can't stand to be around cigarette smoke now. Not because I want one, but because it stinks.Cagliostro wrote:Hopefully next year I can say the same. After the raging success of 2007, 2008 is going to be tough.
In 2007, I:
-Quit drinking.
-Quit smoking.
-Lost 45 pounds.
-Vastly revamped my diet.
-Exercise 2 hours a day.
So for 2008:
-Compete in a Triathlon (probably not a full one).
-Run a full Marathon.
-Bike the entire C&O Canal in less than 24 hours (185 miles).
-Climb a mountain. Not sure which one, but an actual mountain.
-Turn 40.

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Cail, I think you've got the last thing on your list nailed. If the preceding ones don't kill you, that is.
Congrats to those who've kicked the nicotine habit!
I didn't make any resolutions, per se. I read somewhere that goals work better than resolutions. And I do have some goals: drop some weight, get the finances under better control, and start writing more. I realize those are fairly vague; I suppose I should write some more specific ones. Murrin, I like how specific your writing resolutions are -- I may use them as a model.

I've decided to meet some folks form this site this year, when I get time off. I'm thinking that they should be american as that seems like it'd be something a bit different.
So, the likes of Luc(Sorry

Edit;I'm deadly serious.
