Small Town American: Picturing Thomas Covenants Home Town

Can any one recommended either books about small town america (ones with plenty of photos in) or any websites about small town America, as I have never been really successful in visualizing TC home town.

Spot on. In certain areas of the south you can drive around and every now and then you'll see a chimney standing in the middle of nowhere. Some of them date back to Sherman's march, if you're in the right spot.

Goes to show how much we like change.

I've lived in half a dozen small towns that look so much like that one, it's ironic really. I live in one now, except, this one's even smaller.
Has anyone seen my keys?

I always pictured the town TC lives in as looking like one of the small towns outside Spartanburg, SC. Like Clinton or Cross Anchor. There are certainly enough Sherrif Lytons there.

It would have to be small enough that most everybody knows everybody.

but big enough that a wierd looking begger, and a small religious cult don't seem all that out of place.

We still have two years and nine months to kill, folks. So I plan to change my avatar as much as possible to fill some of the void.

I too lived in small towns like that which was described in the First Chronicles as TC's home. So it was pretty easy to picture it in my mind as I read along. The genius of SRD at work again.

Basicly he was a urban renew contractor who tore down alot of old houses and caused a housing boom in the south..
about a 150 years ago or so.

He's still talked about.
