i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Again, thank you for all the comments. :D

New one:

Lover

in the silent secret corners
of the memories of your past
hides the shadow of your lover
who has come for you at last
he'll talk of sins and secrets
and the pain you hid so well
he'll wrap you in his comfort
and he'll save you from this hell

in the brilliance of the sunrise
falling sharp across your eyes
as the promise of your future
lies unwritten on the skies
you will hear a voice that whispers
speaking softly in your ear
it's the voice of one who loves you
and it silences your fear

in the magic of the moonlight
waiting softly for the day
stands the spectre of your lover
come to carry you away
if you listen very closely
you can hear the angels sing
and the song of distant starshine
tells of passion that he'll bring

in the freshness of the sunshine
as the sun looks down from high
and the glory of new heavens
sings a song of azure sky
if you hear a silent whisper
pierce the majesty of day
it's your secret someday lover
come to carry you away

in the hidden mists of twilight
as the light begins to dim
if you hear a gentle music
then you'll know that it is him
it's your lover, come to take you
and he's calling out your name
when you find him in the shadows
you will never be the same

This is one I posted a while back in the Writers Forum. It's one of my favourites.

a dog and a boy

a dog and a boy on a warm spring day
the sky and the breeze call: come out and play
the trees are awake and they're rustling your name,
they're waiting to play a fantastic new game

a dog and a boy at the shore of the lake
where stones softly chuckle, they play ducks and drakes
sailing through the horizon on a ship with white sails
to where krakens are waiting, and monsters, and whales

a dog and a boy setting out on adventure
daring to go where few humans will venture
there's gold to be found there, and other great treasures
there's fame and wild fortune, and wealth beyond measure

a dog and a boy on a warm spring day
flying over the hills to a land far away
filled with dragons and pirates and monsters to fight
and there're cowboys and indians, brave soldiers and knights

a dog and a boy and the clouds in the sky
watch spaceships and ponies and witches fly by
they strap on their jetpacks and fly to the moon
they romp through the stars till the late afternoon

a dog and a boy at the end of the day
when night drops her curtain, and twilight gives way
reality chases the sunbeams away
it's back to the world again, farewell to play
I'm once again 44, hair turning grey
It's back to the office, and earning one's pay
with deadlines and meetings, a boss to obey
- till next time a dog and boy go out to play
