Dozens in Texas town report seeing UFO

"People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it's the end of times," said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. "It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts."

Hmmmmm....End of times? Not bloody likely. Alien invasion? Yeah that sounds about right.

I find it hard to believe that in these days no one snapped a picture with a cell phone.

Seeing as how the town has a derivative of my ex's maiden name for a name, they're probably not very bright, and trying to figure out how to take half my stuff.

Nope we don't. Unless they drag an alien from his crashed ship and parade him around for all to see I don't think we'll believe no matter what pictures they'd get.

If someone doctors a photo, they can try to get away with it because they're the only ones who claim to have seen it. But if someone has a picture that everyone in the county can look at and say "Yep, that's what I sar", I'd find that very credible.

I think the most telling factor is that with the prevalence of cameras (I think the frequency is high per square mile), somehow no on manages to take a picture of an alien vessel / UFO close up; they are always far away. I think close up images reveal that it's either an aircraft or some natural phenomena.

As for alien abductions . . . please.

Why are we so keen to diminish our achievements? Humans are capable of inventing wondrous things.

Anyway, as far as I know there is no evidence that an alien vessel crashed on Earth then. All we have are stories, nothing more. But the big hole (pun not intended) in the Roswell crash is that the craft left no crater. Just bits of metal. Which is no evidence for a space craft.

It's easy for us to judge that with our limited knowledge and technology. But given the vast distances, I sometimes doubt it. But you are right about questioning the feasibility.

unless someone does manage to solve the whole law of physics. considering the vast distances and the lack of anti-gravity anybody/thing would wither away.

Why won't it happen. Some said that about the moon missions. There is no harm in trying.

distance. i have a nephew who is a rocket scientist at Texas A&M. your muscles would atrophy during a long space voyage. you've seen people come back from the space station? it would be worse. your heart muscles would wither and you would die. and if anything were to go wrong on the way there? the astronauts die. it is a huge waste of money and it serves no real purpose.
