I'll see what I can do about the names of Prophets.

Incidentally, to clarify turn identities once and for all: each turn is made out of two parts. In the first part you get the events for the turn, and in the second you send your reactions (your moves). Therefore the Revelations could be considered "the second part of turn 0", and the events I sent you triggered Turn 1, which will end when you send me your turn e-mails, triggering Turn 2. This supersedes anything previously said, and should clarify things once and for all :P

That's clear as crystal. Thanks, Xar.

Good to see I still eventually get some questions answered ;)

Thank you, AllFather.

Then, I assume, we send our Turn 1 instructions to your gmail account, rather than as a pm to you?

I have attempted to clarify the Treasury, Wealth and Contentment rules on the first page of this thread. Please note that:

- Treasury can be used independently of the god's will by his or her followers. Each turn, it also is automatically used by the deity's followers to keep the temples well-maintained, to pay for expenses, and so on: these expenses increase the more followers the god has. If there is no money in the Treasury, followers will begin to leave and projects will begin to slow down and stop.
- Wealth indicates how much money you get each turn. The higher the better. Wealth is influenced by the regions and cities you control - some places can net you a lot of wealth, others are useless, and some actually DRAIN Wealth because of peculiar conditions.
- Contentment can get as high as 10, or as low as -10. The higher the better - but the higher it goes, the more fanatical your followers become, so be careful if you don't want religious zealots in your midst. Contentment 0, as said, is average; below 0 means an increased chance of spontaneous uprisings, worshippers forsaking you, or acting in ways contrary to your teachings, or not listening to you. If your Contentment falls down all the way to -10... well, better hope it doesn't if you like having followers! Contentment changes depending on random events, on your actions towards your followers, and also on the regions you control: obviously, some regions are nicer than others, and your followers will appreciate them more.

A final note about Contentment and regions. There are some deities - deities of disease, decay, oblivion and so on - whose followers might actually appreciate some areas that other deities find unpleasant. For example, a city with a high incidence of disease could be pleasing to the followers of the god of disease. Because of this, the Contentment score of these deities is calculated differently. Therefore, pay attention to the areas you visit - if there's an unaligned city in a festering swamp, think twice about allowing another god to overtake it, even if you're sure it would make your followers unhappy to have it: it might actually BOOST the Contentment for the other god!

Any contests, Xar, to keep our minds occupied after we've written our first turns, and waiting for the deadlines to come and go? (Wrote my first turn about 2 months ago  and though it'll now have to undergo some serious editing, it's still not enough to keep me occupied for a week AND the time it'll take for results!)

That's why I do the small stories. They keep me occupied. Heh.

I love the warm feeling I get when I see Adomorn's name or something mentioned in P3.

I love this game.

Now all we need is a contest. ;)
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

Contests are open again! For the first few ones, we'll be repeating the themes of P2 (creation myths, eschatologies) so as to give everyone an idea about a deity's major themes and character, as well as to give each player a chance to understand his or her deity better by writing about these important parts of his or her faith.

This time, prizes will not just include follower boosts, but also other kinds of prizes - for example, the first-place winner of the Creation Myths II contest will also get a Contentment bonus. Hope you enjoy, and - with 19 players in the game - hope to see most of you taking up the challenge!

On a related note, please take a look at the Background thread every now and then - I'm still adding material then whenever I have time.
