Badass Women in Movies

Post by Ki »

I looked to see if this had been a thread before and didn't see it so I apologize if it is a repeat.

Two off the top of my head:
Trinity played by Carrie-Anne Moss--Matrix movies
Sarah Conner played by Linda Hamilton--Terminator 2

I never liked Carrie-Ann Moss. That's the girl who played Trinity, right?

I never liked half the people in those films.

River Tam(Summer Glau), from Firefly/Serenity.

Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. The Tomb Raider character is so badass she might make my top 10 or 20 overall.

Mila Jovovich as Alice in Resident Evil.

Tank Girl.

Carrie-Ann Moss was badass, but she had a cold personality, unlike, say, Uma Thurman. I love the Matrix (duh!) but the Trinity-Neo love story never worked for me. And the hate that many have for the sequels is understandable.

Other badass women in film that I can recall:

Michelle Yeoh in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Linda Fiorentino in The Last Seduction.

Kathleen Turner in War of the Roses.

edit - thinking about Michelle Yeoh also reminded me of Ziyi Zhang from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. She was definitely a badass girl (with a badass sword!). She and Uma Thurman should get together and duel in some alternate movie universe.
