She's a moron. Smiting is to kind. To kind I tells you!

CJ:
At least make sure you smite her good, to ensure that she remains smiten. And make sure to collect on the fact that you smote her! ;)

Don't worry! I couldn't smite (infinitive) anyone. I think that leaves us fresh out of irregular verb-forms :D

The legality of smiting depends on how you go about it. Physical violence visited upon someone - that's dissuaded in the US, with two notable exceptions - in the South, it's still illegal to physically smite, but you can often get away with it based on a defense of 'some people just need killin' - Perry County, Indiana has been mentioned by Paul Harvey for its questionable record of people literally getting away with murder, founded on essentially the same principle.

Arcane smiting is slightly less immediately satisfying, but keeps you safely in your vehicle and out of view of the authorities, as you are essentially willing the Wrath of <Blank!> to visit a horrific and fitting karmageddon upon the infidel.

*relieved sigh* It's so refreshing to see 'literally' used correctly. I owe you a drink or a yoghurt or something.

I don't care if the speed limit is 55 and you're doing it. People behind you want to pass you. MOVE.
I heard a woman on a radio phone-in a year or two ago, who said she does exactly that, specifically to make people stick to the limit. Regardless of my own opinions about speeding, that's a ridiculous level of busibodiness. I wanted to smite her.
She thinks she is being clever, but what she is doing can be very unsafe.
Which is why some states have laws against it.

Oh man, I hate that, too.

The corollary: People who won't let you over even though you've had your signal on for the last mile and your exit is coming on.

Second Corollary: People who lean on their horn when you finally do move over, even though you haven't cut them off, just cause they don't like the idea that you got in front of them.
Oh, so you guys *do* drive in DC? :)

I have driven in DC.

South Florida is pretty bad, in terms of rude drivers.

Some of the elderly can be a problem, especially when they can't see well, or drive too slow, or have poor reaction time. Many have a hard time admitting when it's time to give up driving.

Some of the Latin Americans (I won't say Cubans, specifically, cause I don't believe they are the whole problem) do bring some "interesting" driving habits to the area.

But I wouldn't blame it all on one group or another. There are too many cars on the road, not such great highway planning, and a lot of aggression and road rage from many drivers.

Please use the word 'Hispanic.' Some of us get offended by the term Latin Americans, due to the fact that the population segment in question is neither from Rome, nor do they speak Latin.

And from living in Florida, the Cubans I've known outnumbered the other hispanic population groups, though not by a 2 or 3 to one thing. More like 3 to 2.

Actually, around here, those from South and Central American seem to prefer to call themselves "latinos."

And the non-Cuban South and Central American population in south Florida is growing. I would guess that Cubans are still the majority of Spanish-speakers, but there are plenty from other countries, as well.

Not to mention all those who've hopped over here from the Islands. :)

smite, smite, smite. . . this word brings happy tidings. :D

And I hate it when men think that since I have two X chromosomes that I don't know anything about cars or computers.

I recently helped my friend buy a computer at the local BBuy store. I compared everything with her, went to find a salesman, who then proceeded to try to sell us everything possible. I counseled her to say no to everything. The guy took us over to the service desk place, where another guy came out to try to make her buy all kinds of crap. Well, we answered no politely to his questions for a few minutes before I got fed up. Then I said, "Look. I teach computer classes for X hospital down the road. If she needs something, I will take care of it." His mouth all but snapped shut, and he said, "Okay. . .thanks. I'll get that started for you right away." Then he left us alone.
