Roots To Branches To Leaves

Post by onewyteduck »

I know practically next to nothing about my ancestors and decided to change that. I signed up for Ancestry.com and have been spending enormous amounts of time there lately.

This has turned out to be one of the most frustrating, yet exhilirating, things I have ever done. I have learned so much about my family that I never knew and I am totally hooked.

Anyway to get to the point! Part of my research has led me to Jasper, Alabama, SBG's stomping grounds. I PM'd him to ask him if the local library had a geneaology department and he was kind enough to get the information for me. I just wanted to post a public thanks.

SBG, you're a doll! :loveyou: And the drinks are on me! I will be seeing you soon!

All I can say is I'm glad you're having luck; I also did some tracing but I didn't find much information that older relatives hadn't already found. It turns out both sides of my family have pretty comprehensive family trees.

I've already established contact with a cousin in California I didn't know existed and we've been firing alot of e-mails back and forth to each other. The really neat thing is that she has been doing this for a long time and I was able to provide her with some info she didn't have. Plus, she's had alot of tips and advice about doing this.

It probably wouldn't be a big deal to most people but up until a month ago, the only living blood relatives I knew of were my son, granddaughter, and my brother.

This makes me feel good!
