Indeed. I also think "The Forestals of Garroting Deep" or maybe just "Garroting Deep" would be good names for bands.

Yes. . . Electronic Repair Forestals aren't much in demand. . . this is why I got a degree in English Literature. Much more marketable, especially with the Minor in History. :P

Me and some of the other guys in Southkicks (South coast trickers) are gonna start a real band. I am the singer. I can't sing. It's gonna be awesome.

It's the effort that matters.

Put some heart into it, and you will rock the house.

Sounds like my first band. We had a drummer who couldn't drum, a rhythm guitarist with no rhythm,a bass player who couldn't play without a picture of the fretboard in front of him and a virtuoso guitarist called James Dean who now lives in Paris, works as a producer and session player and is married to a supermodel (I'm not kidding either, he's a complete git!).

Not one of us could sing, but we all had a go except Dean, who was far too cool and busy writing music for us to butcher. We were called The Angry Cushion, after a cushion in Matt's house that had a paisley pattern that looked like an angry face. We recorded three albums on a four-track tape recorder and then broke up, citing musical differences, lack of motivation, wanting to work on other projects and becoming an actual successful musician, respectively.
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

Y'know, hellfire goes a long way. For some, it goes further than real talent.

My first band was a group of people who actually could play their instruments, and I could actually sing. Problem was, we had no hellfire. I tried to incorporate a little now and again, but nobody wanted to get any more risky with music than Duran Duran covers. The hardest the guitarist wanted to go was some Cult. I kept trying to talk them into Dead Milkmen or at least some damn Ramones, but no. The keyboardist was a Mormon, and when he went on his mission, the band was over.
My problem was that I never remembered the lyrics, and for the few real gigs we did, I had lyric sheets taped to the microphone stand.

Our last gig was one after we had not practiced in many months, and I didn't bother practicing our "big hit" (that we recorded and doled out to our friends and family and some record companies to see if there was interest). I had sang it enough, and felt I knew it like the back of my hand and was bloody sick of it to boot. Of course, during the performance, I forgot the lyrics, and quickly noticed the crowd singing along, so I thrust the microphone to someone and had them sing a bit until I knew where I was lyrically, and finished the song. Everyone that I admitted this to who were there said they didn't notice a thing and thought I was just being generous to the fans rather than struggling with lyrics.

We should have a Kevinswatch band. I could sing backup. . . and play clarinet if needed. Maybe the cowbell and triangles or cymbals. . . I'm quite sure I'm at least as good as Meg White. :P

Once I build my chops back up, I can play a mean trumpet.... if we go the ska direction.
