A HA!!!
SOmeone else who had it happen!
I have not said anything thus far because I didn't want to seem to be 'poopy' but I felt this has happened a few time to me. SO for the last 20 games or so, I have been printing the screen of the board before I type in the last number. Now, about a month ago (the last time I played) it happened again: Game Pack 8, Game Number 22.
I can find nothing wrong with the placement of my numbers at all, yet after putting the last number in it said I had 33 number wrong!

If I can get around to taking a photo of both screen shots (before and after) I will prove it. <he said sounding disgruntled, but with a smirk of contentment>

I have a sneeky suspicion that the game only recognizes ONE answer even if it is possible to have more than one possible number combination...

Needless to say, I got a little upset at the game and have not played since.
:soapbox:
More later once photos available.

(now, that didn't sound too poopy, did it?.... ;) )

Yes, I agree that it will only recognize its preferred solution, even if there is another one. I continued playing after that because it was possible to play.

Now that it won't accept its own originally-placed number, and thus won't accept my finished game, I can't get to the next board, and have no choice but to stop.

I've discovered the series of thousand-game sudoku books put out by Thinking Panda, so I'm playing those instead. (Even though those games are mostly pussycats compared to Deck 8.)

Ok, it isn't just me then. I was wondering if something was screwy or if my brain was taking a vacation without me.

There's a reason the higher people on the lists have lower average scores, Magicmaker. I'm going to have to face up to that myself, on the 1st game of pack 2, and just get it over with.

I bought so many Sudoku books that I can get my fix without playing the game from hell.

Aww, Balon, it's not math, its all logic!!! If you can count from 0 to 9, you can do Sudoku. You also have the option to change the numbers into different symbols. :D
