yeah and jenn and i will talk to your mom too, balon.

(notice none of the guys have offered to talk to balon's mom, this must
be a mommy thing!! )

you will probably be camping out with Sea and i or over at jenn's or something so...we'll all be happy to let your mom know that there's at least 5 women over 30 who will be mommying you to death!!

Sounds fine with me. The less chance of me being killed, the better.

...just...what EVER you do...don't let your mummy see an episode of Fantasy Bedtime Hour...or don't let her know Jenn's partially responsible for it...especially that episode towards the end...using the errrmmm as a massager... Your mum might be worried about serial killers but if you were *my* son and I saw that episode of FBH... ;)

Hey...I'm trying to sway them in the Denver direction. We have a couch, a spare queen sized bed and some sleeping bags. I've just got to convince the girlfriend, otherwise you'll be welcome to stay over. I mean it, but I do need to ask the girlfriend. It would really rock to have you folks over. If not, wherever you stop in the middle, let me know because I want to be a part of it.

Oh, and if we need a place to host a gathering, I'm pretty positive we could be that place. As long as it is under 30 people, y'know.

Lotsa fun to be had! Guitar Hero, Karaoke Revolution, Dance Dance Revolution, toys, games, lava lamps, a sturdy headboard...you name it.

Ok...an update:

So...um...we still don't have any definites (we'll probably get organised a couple of days before I get to the US! ;)).

However: we're no longer coming to DC. :( Sorry. :( It's just looking too expensive for me to fly over there and a logistical nightmare getting all the way back to SF in time to catch my flight back home. Although Luci and I have always planned a road trip, I really don't want to spend most of that time in the car driving.

So...

Here's the deal. I will definitely be in SF from Friday the 13th of June (I think I fly in at around 10.30am) and I'd say we'll spend about 4 days there before heading off. During that time I hope to catch up with Balon, Jenn, Wadders (if she can make it), some of the FBH crew, and anyone else who can make it there.

After that Luci and I are heading east. We are going to Las Vegas and we are going to see the Grand Canyon. Apart from that we haven't worked out what else/where else we're going.

So, SF (13th to the 16th of June) it is if you want to meet me (and I'm really disappointed about DC as a lot of you live in the east and I know I'd have a better chance meeting you all if I came to you but I can't afford it, and can't do it in a two week window). I'm sure that there's a few people east of SF we can visit (Caggy...where's Denver?? Ok...I'll stop being lazy and look at a map!)...and anyone who wants to see me dance on a tabletop in Vegas is welcome to come with us there...and to bail me out when I get arrested. ;)

here endith Sea's rant.

I'll be keeping an eye on S.F. ticket prices - they're discouragingly high right now.

i'm guessing that there will be some time when the ticket prices go down... at least i hope so. cheapest direct flight right now is $600 from philly, and it seems strange paying more than $400, as that seems to be more typical IME... dunno

Dlb, I'm flying out on the 27th so... :( damn it...

And Damelon: yes, the airfare prices are quite high, aren't they (which is why I can't afford to fly to DC).

Anyhooowwwww.... only 3 1/2 months to go! YAY!

Whee!

Greyhound prices are still excellent. I wonder if I can put a bike on the front.... It's be nice to have transport in SF.

Anyway, I'm still good to go!

Yeah, it's pricing out at $150 more for air than last year when I went out to the FBH party. It won't stop me from coming out, but I'll keep an eye on it and hopefully it drops.

that hurts Luci...oh well my idea for an Albq get together was that I was going to secretly PM Sea and work to get all of SRD's readers Sea, Jenn & Romeo together with the author for dinner at our house, among other fun stuff...

Seareach wrote:And I've been avoiding talking about this but I'll bite the bullet: I know some people were hoping for an Albuquerque fest, but I'm going to say now that it's better if such an event is *not* organised around my visit. I want to meet as many people from KW as I can (and I know that if I said "everyone, let's meet in Albuquerque" that a lot of people would probably come). But, that said, if I end up going there I'm going to be doing something very low key and personal. I want you all to know that Luci has urged me to agree to a fest there so don't beat her up about it. Anyone who really wants to know why I'm saying "no, I don't want to do that" can pm me.
What a curiosity-piquer!!!!! I'm tempted to pm. Yes, very tempted!

I'm sure we can agree on some sort of special favor in return for me bailing you out.

Well, anyway, I guess you won't be visiting NYC, so I won't see you either. Another time, then?
