Haha, it's not an uncommon opinion of him here really... Mine was about 400 words. Short, to the point. I don't story-tell in my moves. Now...if we're only lucky enough to have a similarly quick resolution as the previous few...

So...does anyone have any guesses on these L-rds of Eiran and how they'll come into play? I'm excited to see there is one associated with the Fae, as they are not listed among known races this age. Gives me yet some hope regarding the Dragons!

AllFather, of the eight supposedly associated with races, you only list three, unless I'm skipping over something. Care to list the others? Please?

Eddings aims for young readers. You won't have to reach for your dictionary with him as you would for SRD. There isn't much in the way of deep insight either.

Hmm...

I would say something for Beorn then, but since he has read (and liked) The Gap Cycle, *shudder*, perhaps not...

But Eddings definitely has enough books to keep my voracious reader occupied. Although, even though I told him I have other series I plan to read first, so not to expect me to get the next volumes in the series for awhile, Beorn is up to page 417 of Gardens of the Moon, having come across the copy Luci gave me sitting patiently awaiting my attention on my bookshelf...

For the record I LIKED EDDINGS!! Sorta light junk food twinkie fantsay! Belariad & Malloreon were fun and I think a young boy would like them. And I also read and liked the Elenium. His last series, I bought the first book but couldn't get into them.

The Belgariad. That was the first one I read, and generally reguarded as his best work. Look at the reviews on AMAZON.COM; they are generally spot on.

Never made it through a whole book of his, except for the non-fantasy High Hunt, which was pretty good...not his usual fluff.

I found that the solo book he did about the thief Althallus was his best work. Otherwise the rest was over soppy and once you have read one series of his you have read them all.

Also, I hat ethe way its all happy and lovey dovey. Everyone ends up getting married at the end of every series and its just soooooooooo cheesy. I much prefer dark fantasy. I find only the english are any good at it, so far in my experience anyway
