Bad, Bad, Cleveland Browns
10 wins in a season may not seem like much to some, but to Browns fans who have been waiting decades for their team to return to their winning tradition, it means we have a chance. I missed the old days when my team was competetive, and if their offseason is any indication the 2008 season is going to be great.

Le Charles who? The Browns released x-pro bowl center Le Charles Bentley last week. His illustrious career with the Browns ended, about five minutes after it began, with the first play of the first practice he ever took part in. He then sat for the next 2 seasons nursing the injury, only to be cut from the roster at the beginning of this years mini-camp. He played in exactly 0 games for the Browns.

Talk about strange...the Saints lose Bentley (who had never had a single injury with the Saints), and look what happens to him.
To replace Bentley, the Saints pick up Jeff Faine...who was let go from the Browns due to his being prone to injury.
We get Faine, and I believe that he never misses a snap for us...and he arguably had a better 2 seasons with us than Bentley ever did.
And this year we lose Faine thru free agency...I hated to see him go.
Now for this to come full circle, the Saints need to pick up Bentley for this season....
Stranger things have happened.

My hopes are high for this upcoming season, Crennel has managed to put together the type of roster that Believeland hasnt seen since the days of Kosar, Byner, and Slaughter (coolest football player name ever!), but before I get my hopes up too high, I am forced to consider the fact that not only do the Browns have a difficult schedule this year, but we arent going to sneak up on anyone. Every team that we face this year ( Dallas, Philadelphia, the Giants) is going to have plenty of tape on Anderson. My hopes are still high, but realistic. As long as we pound the Steelers it will be a great season.

Can you say bandwagon Batman. Browns fans are coming out of the woodwork now. They will probably fall off the wagon with the first loss, but still its nice to hear alot of positive, and optimistic talk about my team. 5 primetime games this year, early favorites to win the division, and a roster full of talent. Oh Yeah Im drinkin the Kool-aid

Sorry Ive been having a tough time choking down this crow that Ive been eating, but I guess its no big secret. The Browns sucked last season, odds are they will suck again next season, but they will suck with depth. Mangini while pinching the mere pennies the team was left with after the myriad of guaranteed money contracts that former GM Phil Savage signed were satisfied, has managed to sign several free agents ( at low salaries) to help replenish this depleted franchise. There is not one big name among them, especially when compared to the talent that has been shown the door this off season in Cleveland. It was hard to watch the trade for K2 (formerly my favorite Brown), hard to let go of the only pseudo- star on the team, but it seems as if Mangini, and the new GM are comitted to rebuilding the team from the ground up, it may not show by next season, but enough is enough. The Bad, Bad Cleveland Browns will at least be the Deeper Bad Cleveland Browns next season.

Gotta go with Sarge here, Mr. Broken... Mangini doesn't impress me much, and his disrespecting the history of the franchise, well... I imagine the dog pound wouldn't let a bone escape, in most instances...sgt.null wrote:Magini is horrible. good luck this season, but it does not look good.
What do you make of Brady Quinn? Surely you have to throw him out there and see what he can do for a year... I take him as an enigma hiding behind a fair to middlin' QB for two years now. That really doesn't speak much of his potential, not in this era.
