Sequels that need to be made.
Name some sequels that you would like to see made, for instance
Love Kills The Demon : Natural Born Killers volume 2
From Dusk Til Dawn, Seth Comes Back To Texas.

I read somewhere that a film based on Todd McFarlane's warped Wizard of Oz range of figures is in the pipeline. The Dreaming wrote:There *is* a movie I think is just *begging* to be remade. That movie is The Wizard of Oz. I would like to see someone try it as straight gothic fantasy. Who's name always comes to mind when you use the words "Gothic Fantasy"?
Why Burton of course.
Tin Man was nice.
And there was a movie sequel made a couple of decades ago that was panned for being too dark (Dorothy starts off in a Sanitarium, etc).
Near Dark is one I'd like to see sequelled (or re-done -- anything to get rid of the stupid, happy ending).
Lost Boys has a preview up, so that might be something...

I think MirrorMask comes pretty close to a retelling of the Wiz as anything. If you haven't seen it, you really should give it a look. The Dreaming wrote:There *is* a movie I think is just *begging* to be remade. That movie is The Wizard of Oz. Has anyone seen my keys?

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Nope, don't mess with Near Dark.
I'd love to see a sequel to Tapeheads, but I doubt either John Cusack or Tim Robbins would go anywhere near it.
And, of course, Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League.

YES!!!And, of course, Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League.
totally agree... but with so much time passed, couldthey get everyone back?.. Hmmmm it would certainly be a different movie with all of them old ... but I would not want to see a different cast...
And I would love a good sequel to 5th Element...!

You are officially my Movie Overlord, C-Man! Throw Repo Man in, and it's a full-on TV Party! (I didn't think anyone else had seen Tapeheads! Little-known note: The Metal band featured in the movie were actually The Lords of the New Church, one of my favorite post-punk groups!)Cail wrote:...I'd love to see a sequel to Tapeheads, but I doubt either John Cusack or Tim Robbins would go anywhere near it.

Tapeheads is quite possibly my favorite '80s comedy. No one's seen it, but it's hysterical. My college roommate and I used to do the sobriety test all the time.
Good times.
I bought the DVD for $1.99, would have paid 50 times that.

Any bonus features? It occurs to me that my daughter hasn't yet been exposed to the wonder and glory of the Tapeheads. Or Buckaroo Banzai.
I'm a neglectful parent.

There's nothing on the Tapeheads disc other than a bonus CD of "Ordinary Man" by the Swanky Modes. Cusack's all but disowned the film. It's a shame that Mike Nesmith didn't do a commentary.
The Buckaroo Banzai disc is fantastic, and reincorporates the original beginning with Jamie Lee Curtis as Buckaroo's mother.

Cusack didn't like 'Heads? I always thought he and Robbins had a ball on that film. Ah, well...
We can still hope for a Buckaroo sequel. (I may have to go get a pic of Perfect Tommy for my avatar.)
