You should have gotten a key from Blizz (murrin). Anyone with a sub can "recruit-a-friend" and send them a free 10 day trial key. I am not even sure if there is a limit on this. (Maybe tied to the email) I used the email tied to Kevin's Watch, so if that isn't your real email (I use a trash email for a lot of online stuff myself) be sure to check it!

well creator and i were talking today and realized HE'S the only one that can resurrect anyone (draenai shaman.)

i'm a draenai hunter, sorus is a night elf hunter, i don't know what seareach is yet.

ger is playing a draenai warrior but he's on my account so he can't quest at the same time i do. he's been lone wolfin' it.
I guess I better make a warrior or a paladin then :)

(Edit: Just made a Dwarf Warrior "Artagal")

Besides, it probably doesn't work with dial-up, huh...
It does work with dial-up. Even decently. The problem is the patches. They take days to download. Literally. WoW patches made me get broadband.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

The Dreaming--Thanks! Now I just have to wait for my hard drive. (It doesn't look like it's going to appear today.)

I'm not entirely certain my idea for getting onto the US game will work, since it says I enter the guest pass during installation--which means it might be tied to the US client. I did wonder, since all the places it talked about getting the US server list were about people who already had the game and an account in the other region. Ah, well. I may just get the US client, if that's the case. Wait and see.

Was still downloading patches when I went to bed last night. After some consideration, I've decided to go druid.

Question: Can the Blizzard Downloader be stopped halfway through and started again later? I'm getting an estimated download time in excess of ten hours...
(Even more annoying than the long wait will be if it turns out I can't get this client running on the US servers and have to start over.)

I think you can, it'll look like it's starting over from 0% but after a few seconds it'll rattle up to the place you were before.

Good. I just disabled peer-to-peer, and my estimated time has dropped to 9 hours (p2p was running between 80-100kbps; direct http runs at ~110-118).

Yeah, I'm on Scryers. Not so sure about being on an RP server, mind--I had a gnome try to engage me in in-character conversation earlier (I already said I'm no good at this multiplayer stuff, heh).

I'm not sure what everyone's character names are, to be able to add them.

ok...here we go:

lucimay = Irvea
seareach = Seareach
creator = Stormbreak
sorus = Sorus
sorus = Stormblaze (lvl 70)
syl = Treach
damelon - Roladys
the dreaming = Esmer
the dreaming = Artagal

i don't know which character the dreaming is meaning to play with us with and thus far he hasn't been on when i've been questing.

i am lvl 24 now and i have 3 dungeon quests pending in my quest log.
i'm gonna have to go down into one of em before long folks and i
don't want to go ALONE please!! 8O :biggrin: :lol:
