On the other hand.

Where, or what has become of Rogers other hand? Was it a swap, or did he leave it (pardon the pun) on the cutting room floor? Is it now attached to Kastenessen, or has he in a sense become Halfhanded?

yes but knowing that most people are born with 2 hands, one could surmise that the loss of one of those hands would leave you halfhanded. I just wonder if Kastenessen is the halfhand mentioned in the Elohim's warning.

It would sure have been nice of the Elohim to actually be clear about his warning. I can't imagine he cared about the Masters' trying to keep the people ignorant.

Seeing how this new series of halfhands it could be a number of people. TC, Jeremiah, The Humbled, and possibly a character that has not been introduced yet.

Speaking of Halfhands I wonder how TC is going to react to the maiming of the Humbled.

Speaking of Halfhands, is TC himself still one? Or was his death / resurrection enough to restore his health?

If he IS still a halfhand, does that imply that he's also still a leper?

He's certainly still a halfhand, and my guess is he's still a leper also.

I still wonder about Rogers hand, what happened to it ? I mean was it an even trade? Kastenessen's hand has given Roger some of the powers of the Elohim, could Rogers human hand attached to Kastenessen lend the Elohim some of Rogers mortality, and if so does the Elohim intend to escape through death. Yet another question, would the Elohim stand by and allow the actual "DEATH" of one of their own?

It would surely be a cheap trick to rid TC of his leprosy after all this time.

It has happened before whenever hurtloam is present in the land Covenant ends up at least temporarily cured, either by accident, or against his will.

Why would it be a cheap trick? If he's returned to life, shouldn't he be returned to health as well?

Of course, I could see him remaining a half-hand and a leper, if he still identifies himself as those things. In other words, his own idea of his identity is completely tied up with being an outcast cripple, and the past events haven't been able to heal him of his own self-despite. But then, TC himself would be (unconsciously)preventing his own healing.

Edit: In fact, this would be analogous to Anele's madness, in that Anele is both the cause of his own madness, and is actively preventing anyone healing him.

If an author can bring you back to the Land and hit you with a Sunbane, he can bring you back to Covenant and hit you with no leprosy. Monumental events are the stuff of a story.

I wouldn't want to be Roger's other hand if Kestenessen got it. Think how crispy it would be by now attached to a person made of the hot hot hellfire.

If he still has his leprosy, his personal doctor can cure that..

Or slap some hurtloam on him.

I think he will have his leprosy with him since he "died" and wasn't healed during his last mortal visit.

I think like UrDead there.

TC died with his leprosy quite intact. The wild magic only burned the venom out of his spirit, not the leprosy.

Linden brought him back to the living from the dead. There was never any mention of her need to heal him, or of his losing his leprosy. On the one hand, I could see how his leprosy could be a non-issue at this point. At the same time, it could be more important than ever.

This leprosy business reminds me of the "is the land real/not real/just a dream?" business. That issue was so important in the First Chronicles, less so in the Second, and has not been mentioned in these Last. However, that doesn't mean it's unimportant.

I just can't see SRD casting aside such a crucial fact of his main character's existence...unless the story dictates it in some way. I guess, if TC is cured of his leprosy, I trust SRD to do it in an uncheap, non-tricky way, a way that is powerful and necessary for the rest of the story. I just don't think it'll happen.

And by the way: hurtloam never cured TC's leprosy. It just reversed the symptoms of it for a time in the Land. He regained sensation in his fingers and toes, but the essential fact of his disease never left him. If there is textual evidence to prove that hurtloam actually cured his leprosy, I'll need it quoted for me. :)

Nerves dont regenerate. How many times have we heard this ? Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that Hurtloam only cured his leprosy while he remained in the land, but as far as only regaining the feeling in his fingers and toes, well maybe we should ask Lena about that?
