our game was corrupted for some reason (who knew) so yesterday evening when he got home from work and tried to run the patch the game had to do this half hour long repair thingy.
then we had trouble with the patch.
THEN ger finally got it to run and do its thing but i didn't get to log in
until like nearly 11. so i was up till nearly 2 am killing the WRONG dark strand dipthongs.
finally i read the quest again and realized i was in the wrong place,
when i got to the right place i was too tired to kill more dark strand dinkuses with void poopers and imp minions!! :P
but i've just been reading online and realized this quest is a N I N E part
quest!!!
The Tower of Althalaxx- in Darkshore.
yeah, I end up just selling my bandages right after I make them...I don't think I've ever used one.
I'm sorry to hear you were questing in the wrong place last night, I've done that before.
Also, I started the Tower of Althalaxx once....it was an annoying quest just doing the first two parts, so I haven't even started it with any of my other characters. I don't really intend to do it again...

Stayed on late tonight, helped Damelon with one quick quest, but have had to log off because it's heading to 2am.
Looks like grouping is not very convenient on weekdays for me.

tell me about it. i've damn near given up. i went there to the correct place again tonight and killed everything in a 599 mile radius TWICE and still didn't get the damn glowing freakin gem. pissed me off.
THEN i started on the long journey south to Forest Song and got forgodsake on the wrong ROAD and went instead toward Felwood or
whatever. met up with some player blood elves that, that goodness just laughed at me and waved!! hahahahaha!!!

i heartstoned thinking i'd set the stone to astranaar but NOOOOOOOO.
i was all the way back in darkshore. had to get on a dang bird and fly south again.
got sidetracked killing water elementals at silverwing outpost where i felt beholden to them cause they were all my trainers and i got some more training for me and raymond.
he's a badass kitty now and kills stuff by himself!!

headed south without taking another quest from them and got lost and attacked by crazed spiders and wolves and then ger said he wanted to play a while so i gave up the computer. bleh.

Guess all this fishing pays off.

That would be unwise, especially since 1st aid doesn't take up a proffesion slot. (Theres absolutely no reason not to learn it) Bandages are nice because 1- they are faster than eating. 2- You can use them in combat. Even as a healing class, they can be occasionally useful. Its a free heal that doesn't engage the 5-second rule for spirit regen. You may not need them now because... lets face it, Hunters are STACKED. But I don't see how you can avoid using them just to reduce down time.

I've been using my bandages. I find it's the quickest and easiest way to heal when I'm out fighting stuff.

Just so you know - cooking, fishing, and first aid can be learned by everyone without taking up a profession slot. So my Herbalist/Alchemist can still learn all three. (Cooking can actually be nice end game... fishing not so much anymore. They took away a lot of alchemy's dependence on certain fish. I remember making LOTS of money selling stonescale eel.)

Yeah, Murrin helped me out with a couple of quests last night. I picked up an elven wand along the way.

With the new mouse, I figured out how to swim. Now I can go out into the water on that other quest.

I went fishing and completed that quest. Maybe I'll do a little more, you never know what you'll catch. ;)

I've hit level 20. My quest rewards seem to have taken a big jump in value (I'm getting 60s for pretty simple quests, and a lot of the more difficult quests now are offering 1 or 2g).
I also now have a very cool red cape.

I'd definitely recommend keeping first aid levelled, whatever your class. I hardly use them on my priest but there have been times when I've had just enough mana to put up a shield, bandage myself and then wand the mob down. I use them quite regularly with the hunter though, where I'll feign death or drop a freezing trap and then bandage.

I remember making 1g a pop on stonescale eels when they released the tier 0.5 armour quests. I noticed they finally found a use for lightning eels too; I got the recipe for Stormchops the other day. Now I need to level my fishing high enough to catch the things!
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

you can find a trainer in most big cities. There's on in Darnassus, one in the Exodar, etc. If you just go up to one of the peacekeepers in a big city, the ones who will give you directions, you can ask them to point you to in the right direction. A little flag will appear on your map showing you where to go.

For expert fishing, I believe you need the book. Found from the fisher guy in the neutral town way down south - name escapes me at the moment... Booty Bay, I think. Right in the middle on the lowest dock level (basically, just jump in the bay and swim out onto the ramp in the middle. will be right in front of you). And if you buy one, you might as well buy a couple more to sell at auction.

Murrin, if you go there, can you pick me up a shot pouch (medium shot pouch, I think. whatever has a +fire rate above 10%)? I'll send you the money for it.

On that subject: got an email yesterday saying my order was being shipped, with an estimated delivery time of 6-10 days, which is not quite as fast as the original ebay listing had said. I'm going to be off the game from saturday (when my trial expires) until sometime midweek (could even be the end of the week), in that case, and I still can't send or receive stuff until then (Luci and Sorus, you might want to check when that mail you sent me expires and gets bounced back to you, in case it does so before I can receive it).
I'll get you what you need if I can, but it might turn out you'd get it quicker on your own.

Hmm. The FAQ also says there's a level cap of 20 on the trial, so maybe it'd be better if I stop now until I get it unlocked, rather than waste the xp I should be earning....

Mail you send stays in someone's in-box for 30 days. If they only sent it earlier this week, you'll be fine as long as you upgrade within about 3 weeks.

Ah, that's fine. I knew that mail expired, had no idea how long it took.

Anyway, since Kysen is no longer able to earn exp (I checked--even the rest bonus reset when I logged in), I've started a new character: Timkins, the Gnome mage. (Stupid name, I know; I wanted Barty, but it was taken.) Should keep me busy for the last few days of the trial.
