Premonition
What I expected, but, surprisingly, much better than what I expected.
fall far and well Pilots!
I absolutely am ga-ga over Sandra Bullock, so this is on my-must-see queue.

This is a really good film, if you look at it the right way. Remember things and days jump all over the place. If you analyse it too much you may talk yourself out of liking it. To really enjoy this suspend disbelief. If you've ever seen Jacob's Ladder kinda will yourself into the mood that that movie sucks you into. (And yes Sandra acts very well and is very hot)
fall far and well Pilots!
This movie blew. Sorry Danlo, but the story was an absolute mess.
It was nice to see Sandra actually act, but what a waste in this clunker.
Spoiler
Why bother introducing the doctor or showing her getting committed when it's never addressed?

I know it did...I just tried to build a positive case for it since I willed myself to be entertained by it. My argument, in retrospect, doesn't convince me either... I thought she acted well in Crash, but I couldn't hang with all the cussing, same thing for Casino-actually the guy at the video store pointed out the to me when I returned the thing asking me, "Didn't it really suck?".
I've been looking forward to watching Deadwood but a friend told me that if I don't like alot of cursing I wouldn't like it either...
Spoiler
The daughter's cuts were out of sequence along with your point-it was an interestering concept done in by crappy writting-the husband was way too bland an actor-a waste of talent that Dunaway wasn't given a stronger part-if anything saved the movie for me it was the husband dying...

Ugh....The cuts. That was a really horrible scene, and I don't understand why it was there.
I don't know. Honestly, I'm trying to picture the meeting between the writer and the studio bosses that greenlit the project. I can't fathom what the film's message is.

I think the only ways I have of explaining any message in the film-what I meant by suspending disbelief (and maybe the Jacob's Ladder allusion *shrugh**)-is that you can't And if any of what I just said makes sense it puts too much on the viewer to figure it out, it's almost as useless as trying to figure out The Forgotten...
Spoiler
control a serial dream-her dreams are switching back and forth and she's trying to make sense out of the fantastical conclusions in some sort of time-line-her dreams have to make sense in order for her to save her husband, but since you can't control fate or time--her dreams had nothing to do with reality and if they did she simply ran out of time.

Here's what really bugged me.
And again, what's the message here? What did she change? Did she change anything? Could she have changed anything?
AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! I really wanted to like this movie, but I think it easily makes my 'worst 10 movies ever seen' list.
For the record, I liked Jacob's Ladder, and I thought The Forgotten was OK.
Spoiler
When she tells her girls that their father is dead, the older girl doesn't have the scars, but she clearly had them when he took them to the park (and that's a whole 'nother can 'o worms, who the Hell takes their kid to the park the day after her face is cut to ribbons?).

Premonition
I just finished watching this movie on Dvd. I was curious about others' opinions on it. Personally, I didn't like it, and particularly hated the last 10 minutes. I won't go into detail because I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it, but I predicted what would happen within the first 20 minutes.
Does anyone have a dissenting opinion?
