Is anyone else excited about the new X-Files movie?

Yeah...I'm kinda psyched. The X-files reminds me of some of the happiest days of my life. I have great associations and memories of that show.

Kim and I will certainly make a date night out of it.

I'm interested. I could see how it could be good. I just hope it will be. I just want it to feel like a normal episode from the older days when it was good and there wasn't a baby and supersoldiers and the Lone Gunmen are not dead.

The first X-Files movie, the film broke just as they were being pursued through the corn field after the bee encounter and the black helicopters were overhead. The first truly exciting part of the movie, and it was like a stomach punch on opening day to all concerned. After waiting 15 minutes, it didn't have quite the impact and excitement once it started up again.

I was on a Simpsons and Futurama kick when X-files was big. I did enjoy the movie, though. I thought it distilled the basic essence of the series. Not sure if it's right up there with the best episodes, though.

I wish I had an easy way to get into the series, but it'll be a long while, as I just discovered how to watch all the Lost episodes for free.

I guess I'm one of those that were hoping it was a conspiracy...or at the very least that there would be some reference to them in the past so they would have an appearance. I just loved the characters.

I'm cautiously looking forward to the second film. I enjoyed the first one - rather to my surprise, since I wasn't a devotee of the TV series.

I thought the film was just ok. Has never grabbed me for a second viewing.

The series was very good in the first two seasons, then it rapidly went down the gurgler, with only occasional spasms of quality thereafter.

Not looking forward to yet another cash-cow being milked.

I knew that was coming, but as for me, no, not excited. But then, as much as I liked the series, I was never keen on it again after the movie came out.

Yes I'm excited. Loved the series. Thought the first film fit in well with the established storyline and enjoyed it enough to buy and and watch it several times. The thing about the Xfiles is that the production values of the series were generally so high that a "Big budget" feature film doesn't really give you that wow factor. We got plenty of wow sitting in our living rooms. I knew this going into seeing the film at the theater and wasn't let down. Now the series has been off the radar long enough that I think another movie is well timed.

I'll admit to being excited. I loved (most) of the show. I think I read somewhere that the movie will be more of a stand-alone type story than one that ties directly into the mythology, which is probably a good thing, cause the mythology was getting just a mite convulted there at the end.
