I knew I wasn't the only one here! I was raised to believe that I could, and should do everything for myself--that I should never depend on having someone to do it for me. I was raised with the opinion that there is no such thing as woman's work or men's work. In fact, my father washes the dishes for my mother since they first met in the 70s. I grew up on a farm, chucking hay bales and carting around 50lb bags of grain. I participated in the slaughter of our livestock for food. I helped my father build a house, and many small buildings. I helped my father repair the small engines on farm equipment. And when I met people willing to teach me how to replace the head gasket on my car, or change my car's alternator, I was eager to learn. I also learned how to cook, keep a clean house, budget money, and manage a family, and to be a lady.

My parents raised me as an intelligent human being first, and a girl second, and I see no problem with that. And no, I am not a feminist either. I like men. . . I enjoy being around them, and I don't expect a man to come along and make my life perfect. I am a woman of many interests, and I like being that way.

Moreover, I'm certain that women like me and thefirst are not among a minority of women. Okay. . . time to get off my soapbox. :soapbox:

Oh. . . and I have no problem with this thread. I do have a sense of humor. ;)

I cook, have been known to crochet (which I have done once at a kegger), do laundry, regularly do dishes, better at expressing my emotions than almost all the women I have dated, and I don't like sports. Hence why I refer to myself as a girly man.

I don't much care for watching sports, though I do like to play them, but I've never referred to myself as a girly man. ;) I can however, field dress a deer, and walk in 4" heels, but I don't think I'd try it at the same time. :)

thefirst, I have the uttmost confidence in your ability to accomplish the above feat. Make sure someone's there to take pictures so we can all see 'em. ;)

I have to admit, I think the jokes are funny!

I too am a confident woman that can and has replaced a transmission in a car. My dad would not let me get my drivers license until I was able to check the fluid levels in my car and change a tire. He did not want me to be a "helpless female".

My husband does dishes, laundry, vacumes while I take care of the finances. (No he is not whipped, we share the household chores)

First and Wyldewode - I'm glad there are more of us out there!!

Bill Kaulitz makes me question my heterosexuality.

Though I don't like guys.

I think I might just get myself chemically castrated, and then I won't have to deal with any of this anymore.

No matter how hard I try, I can't see all of thefirst's posts. All that's coming through is this:
