Yes, those stories about me are dull and boring.matrixman wrote:More interesting to me would be Bannor vs. Catwoman, and Batman vs. a Cavewight. Just because I don't like seeing the good guys fight each other.
Have not read Elric. I've tried reading Michael Moorcock's work before, but it's just not for me.

I'm reading Elric the Stealer of Souls right now. It's not really for me, either. I've also been reading the Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser stories (Leiber), which are similar to the Elric tales. I like Leiber's stories a lot better.matrixman wrote: Have not read Elric. I've tried reading Michael Moorcock's work before, but it's just not for me.
I gotta say, reading "Arioch, Arioch! Save me! Suck this guy's brains and soul!" over and over again gets tiresome.

The Elric books are seriously dark and depressing. However, they're extremely short so they're easy to digest in small servings. Sometimes they're so fantastical I think Moorcock must have been writing them whilst enjoying a nice mushroom dinner.
Edit: D'oh I didn't address the original thread question. I think Elric would own TC if Thomas didn't know the fight was coming... otherwise it depends on what stage of his power Thomas is in. If he's One Tree power, he'd blow Elric away with a blast of black fire. If he's IW level, he'd still be trying to light his ring (picture someone with a zippo that's out of lighter fluid) while Elric lopped his members off!

I actuality I started this thread to determine the more likeable of the 2. Not about Batman, or Ninja Spiderman, and the addition of Mini me was just for fun. If you were to square the 2 off against eachother you would have to determine weaknesses. Thomas Covenant has Wild Magic, a power of limitless resource, and no rules to follow, but Covenant is conflicted , about killing, about violence in general, Where as Elric has killer instinct, and a soul sucking sword. I dont know who would overcome the other, but if I had a choice of who I would rather be left alone with I'll take the Leper.

Honestly? Elric would win. I've had this conversation with someone who has read both series, whom I have conversations like this to death with, and we're both of the opinion that Stormbringer would not only be able to shield Elric from TC's wrath, much as the Kemper was able to do, and then Elric would just start summoning more of Stormbringer's race until TC lost. Of course, were they fighting in the Land, the fight would end with TC simply shattering the Arch of Time.
