"Runnin' Down a Dream": Tom Petty Bio by Peter Bog
Has anyone else seen this thing? It is a bit too long, but Petty finally gets his due as one of the greats. His rise is marked by luck, self-interest, and outright refusal to f'd with. great stuff!

It was an odd path. I also think that Petty was wise to fight his record company tooth and nail. It not only gave him great PR, but street cred too.Mr. Broken wrote:Excellent as Rockumentary's go. Amazing that they had to go to Europe to hit, and then return to the states famous.

There is a Dylanesque quality there, but I'd argue he's got a little Roger McGuin in there as well as a little Bo Diddley.Mr. Broken wrote:He turned down Stevie Nicks, she didnt even want equal billing, just wanted to be a Heartbreaker, instead their collaboration produced two of the most memorable duets in Rock history. The man is underappreciated, even if he does tend to write, and sound like Dylan.
