I find myself calling Malik daddy or dad even when the kids aren't around. Glad I am not the only one who does that. He doesn't call me mom ever. Isn't that funny? I bet you don't call your wife mom either, right?Mortice Root wrote:I rarely get called by my first name, which is Jeremy. Most people just shorten it to Jer, which is fine. But in recent years, like SBG mentioned, I get daddy a lot, from both my son and wife. The funny thing is, she frequently calls me daddy now, even when the little one isn't around.

No...Stone has not been forthcoming publicly either.Wyldewode wrote:Am I the only one who didn't tell her name?
I don't think thefirst has given her first name either, just her middle name, and she spoilered that.
You shouldn't feel pressured to say what it is ~Lyr. That's something each Watcher should decide for themselves. From when I first joined, my signature had "Pam" on the first line; I only recently deleted it as the signature size guidelines were put in place. It's still in my signature over at the Hangar.

Well, I sign my name in PMs, so anyone who has ever had a PM from me knows already. And earlier in the thread when Xar said that women named Alexandra were bad for his family, I remarked that I couldn't possibly be good for him then. As I said, it isn't a secret.
But I will keep the rest of my name to myself.

My parents nearly named me Melissa. One of my great-uncles, who does not know that I was nearly named Melissa, calls me Melissa almost every time we meet. My third grade teacher called me Missy (which I'm pretty sure is a nickname for Melissa, and not Michelle) without my permission. When people forget my name, which happens fairly often, 90% of them call me Melissa. I have never felt like a Melissa, and each time somebody calls me Melissa I like the name less.

On the original version of my birth certificate my first name was Blair. That was changed after about 6 hours, for which I'm eternally grateful to my father for. The only Blair I knew growing up was the character (female) from the Facts Of Life tv show - it wouldn't have been fun growing up with a "girl's name" - as I would have percieved it then.

My oldest is Alexandra and goes by Alex. Groovy.Wyldewode wrote:Am I the only one who didn't tell her name?I guess I can't see any harm in it. . . I'm Alexandra, almost everyone shortens it to Alex, I kinda prefer Alexa, and I'll always answer to Lyr.
But it is funny how you can feel a name (given or a nickname) either suits you or doesn't.

Well its always nice to have one or two guitars around. Kind of like those homes where there is a piano sitting in the living room and no one in the house has any idea why they bought it.sgt.null wrote:i own three guitars. (two acoustic, one electric.) i can play none of them.
