I would be if we'd all grow up a bit and drop the selfishness. But yeah...that'll probably never happen.CovenantJr wrote:Hmm, I wouldn't say government. Someone has to govern. Anarchy isn't really workable.Auleliel wrote:government

But, as I am sure you know, the only person that should be allowed to govern is the person that doesn't want to.CovenantJr wrote:Hmm, I wouldn't say government. Someone has to govern. Anarchy isn't really workable.Auleliel wrote:government
So what do we do? Force that person to govern against their will? Then who really has the power? The person who was forced into the position of governing, or those that forced him or her to govern? Arghhh, my head hurts.

I let my mind wander and it never came back.

This is probably not the worst idea that anyone ever had, but it's gotta be up there.
At my old workplace we had no hot water in our breakroom. The sink would always be clogged because of people washing their dishes in cold water. The pipe from the bottom of the sink was about a foot long, and emptied into a little dish-thing below the sink, which was in turn connected to the main plumbing. There was a gap of a few inches between the pipe and the dish. When the sink clogged, the dish would overflow and flood the room.
This was an expensive, new building. Perhaps there was some very logical reason behind the design. Perhaps not, because most of the plumbers we hired were fairly puzzled by it.

In my old house my air conditioner and the condensation pan that hung under it was located in the attic over my living room. Now this pan is supposed to be a catch when the line from the AC that runs down and outside gets clogged. Unfortunately I found out the hard way when the pan overflowed one summer evening. Yes you guessed it. Water damage to my living room ceiling. WTF?
