Thing is there are crackheads all over the city. There are neighborhoods where there are more than others such as the loin and the mission but they are everywhere.

I know. Hey, I work in DC! And my very first job out of college was in a once-classy hotel in a little town in Indiana. By the time I started working there, however, it had been a loooong time since the hotel was classy. I would occasionally have to step around drunks sleeping it off in the hallway on my way to work...

Quite honestly, the tenderloin has a very bad rep in the city but I just moved there from the mission and I think the mission district is worse. If you look at the SFPD crime statistics it is far worse for violent crimes and muggings while the loin is predominantly individual drug busts and prostitution busts. PLUS I see the cops actually doing things about the drug dealers and the crackheads sleeping on the sidewalks. In the mission I could literally look one way down the alley and see the police station and look the other way and see the crack dealer openly dealing crack in broad daylight on the other corner while a crackhead or two was either squatting and taking a dump between cars and another was pissing on the building. I RARELY saw the cops doing anything about any of it. In fact the one time that comes to mind was the time I had to go meet Irrational Sanity at the BART station for FBHfest. :P

No wonder you moved. And I agree with you -- I'd take a neighborhood with nonviolent crime over one with violent crime any day...

well, I'm not as sore today as I was yesterday, which is great! (I went canoing on Friday and Saturday) My purple belt test in Kempo is tomorrow, and I'm hoping I'm not sore at all for that...

I'm kinda bored at work right now though...

Top tip for everyone: though it may take longer to dry, use hot tapwater not boiled in kettle water for mopping!

I just got back from the gym. I worked out hard for an hour, and I'm very sore. I bought some bulk-brand protein drink so I can speed up muscle growth to get quick results. I expect to be working with a trainer on thursday night for an hour and on friday or saturday. Should be good.

It's Tuesday. Looks like we are gonna be busy today. That's good. Moose stayed home today because I need to do some stuff after work but he sure gave me the guilt trip eyes when I left. What a drama king he is. :P

Congratulations!!

May I ask what the belt hierarchy is in your style? In the style I trained in, shito-ryu, purple is the 4th (7th, if you count the white striped belts inbetween) belt earned. I am currently one belt above purple, blue with a white stripe. In my style, that is halfway to black.
