well, I am sore! got back into the gym after a 9 month hiatus, and have been paying for it on the scale and reduced energy. I hired a personal trainer who must have committed war crimes in a past life --- damn! but its good to be back!

congrats, Mortice!

Menolly, hang in there. |G

Ow, Vain. At least it's taken care of, tho.

Menolly -- Hang in there. |G

Lore and iQ -- good for you for sticking with the workouts! Traffic has been awful this week, so I've been missing half of my daily cardio every day, arrgh. (I usually get on/off at the Metro stop that's four blocks from the office, instead of the one that's a block away -- but if I'm running late I have to use the closer one.) Today I forced myself to take the stairs from the 3rd floor to the 10th floor in compensation....

Frazzled, but good. A beautiful light rain has been falling for two days-you know we don't really get that much moisture here.

All this kitchen and garage remodeling is coming to a head today, so it will be all downhill after that. The sheetrocker is finishing up tape and mud today and my tiler is coming to lay the heating mats in the garage. Then the plumbers come in at 1 to yank out the floor furnace and saw off it's vent that's standing in the section of wall we blew out, between the dinningroom and the kitchen, that'll serve as a two-way bar. So I disappear from house and comp at 1 (everything covered in plastic and all doorways are sealed) since the vent is insulated with asbestos.

Tam, Elora and I are staying in a motel tonight. Jojo is in the kennel (you're safe Wadds!) and poor Sam's on his own...whew! Will reappear around 2-5 tomorrow.

...awww Jenn...

I've been AFK most of the morning, but I'm back now. I'm sure I'll appreciate whatever is new since I last looked.

Anyway...the reason I was afk. Maybe my biorhythms are shifting for the better. Then...maybe not.

When my sister and I visited my uncle in the hospital on Saturday, the only thing he asked me is if I was interested in buying his van. It is a 1995 Voyager and he mumbled something about $4K for it. We have two minivans already, although with Beorn being eligible for his learners permit come the end of August, having a third vehicle would be nice. But...$4K for a 13 year old van? I told him we were OK.

This morning my aunt called, and offered the van to us as an "inheritance." She showed us the receipt for work they just had done; in fact she picked up the car from the shop on Monday. New transmission and a bunch of other stuff, to the tune of $3500. No wonder my uncle wanted $4K for it. It has 120K miles on it, but our other two vans are each over 300K miles, and with nursing are still going strong. So, for free (other than registration), Hyperception and I figure why not?

We got there, and although the van had just been driven on Monday, the battery was dead. We jumped it, and on the 45 mile drive home it died. Most likely an alternator. Hopefully not anything else more major electrically. We'll see what our mechanic says.

AAA came within 45 minutes, and since I had driven us down in one of our other vans, the wait wasn't too bad.

Then, I found a decent fare to Seafest in Denver. Regular roundtrip fares have been running about $230 each way. I really didn't want to spend more than $99 each way, but when I say a fare of $119 each way, Hypercepeption gave the go ahead to grab it. Too bad there was an additional $42 in fees tacked on, so it cost me $80 more than I wanted to spend rather than $38 more, but at least my flight out to Denver is now booked.

So...things are looking up, with a few hiccups along the way. If y'all could send some good thoughts in the general direction of Pittsburgh tomorrow for my sister's kidney biopsy, then everything will be covered.

Thanks all.

I feel frustrated. Igor drives me freaking nuts sometimes. He's over at his computer while I am trying to help customers and fracking interrupts me because he wants me to write his posts for him on his forum because my typing is so much faster and more accurate. For frack's sake I'm trying to run a business and I don't have time to type for him. Worst part was the message I absolutely had to type for him right now right now right now was "Thank you for your help. Igor"

Hugs for all that need them. |G

I had a superbad migraine today, and had to take my prescription med for it. It finally went away after 8 hours, but it left me completely wiped out and weak. I feel like crawling in bed and cuddling up with a warm human being. . . but at the moment it's just me and the cat here. And though the cat is sweet as can be, it's just not the same. Bah! :(

even though your first pic ain't working in the link it says "belfast" and so I assume we're talking about that quaint Irish game called Hurling (good thing my Mr is Irish eh). Unfortunately it's the latter (although I ain't seen no pumpkin seeds--or carrot--in either of our spew!).

I'm feeling a bit better, but I've just spent half an hour cleaning SoS and his bed and his walls. How some kid who has been chucking so much can have so much spew in him i don't know (well, I do: I have him lemonade and a sandwich. dumb mum! :P).
