Ah, must have missed that patch. :P

Sorry!

I think you could probably make 350 gold in far less than 42 hours in Outland, but it is an awesome mount that very few people have.

I know it's a lot easier to grind the leather other turn ins for Frostsaber rep now that Winterspring is near deserted and old world rep gains have been boosted. They're still very tough mounts to get though, I don't think I've ever seen one in-game. The Paladin epic quest is very cool and the horse looks great, but I know a lot of pallies now skip it and just buy a normal epic mount because of the cash in Outland. Plus you'll have to buy the epic riding skill in order to get your flying mount skill later on, you can't skip unfortunately.

I managed to buy my epic tiger when I was about level 65 and by selling all the motes I'd collected and doing a few quests at 70 (you get over 10g each for them) I was able to get my flying mount within a day or two of hitting the level cap.
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

Oh, and it almost slipped by entirely, but yesterday I passed a very cool milestone in my Protection build: I had the very first instance of a mob killing itself purely through reactive damage (ie, it died by hitting me, not by me hitting it). It actually took me a while to realise why one of the three undead hitting me at the time fell dead seemingly on its own. :D

In less good news, I just worked out that I won't have enough talent points at level 70 to get the last couple of talents I want, so I'm probably going to have to reset them a second time and re-spec, probably dropping Precision and Stoicism.

Yeah, same for my warlock. One talent point short of being able to keep my Felguard AND get that life-stealing dot from the affliction tree. I guess I can get it at level 71, though they will probably introduce something new and exciting in demonology as well.

A tanking Paladin is pretty damn cool. I don't do much damage with my weapons, compared with other builds, but with Blessing of Sanctuary and Holy Shield I cause damage every time I block, and Redoubt triggers randomly and increases my blocking rate now and then. On top of that are my seals and judgements, my AoE Consecration, and Reckoning, which triggers on hit and gives me double melee strikes for a short while. All in all, I cause more damage the more mobs are hitting me, heh.
Only real drawback is my Mana spending--the build is at its best with a healer supporting him, because healing from other players restores mana.

As for Talent points, I've been reading up on tanking Paladin builds, and while I have all of my points in the same tree (Protection), it looks like most people put 15-20 in one of the other two trees instead. I might have to look into that and work out what I want to do.

Ouch. Didn't completing that Paladin quest automatically give you the skill at one point?

I thought it still does. Otherwise there'd be no point (the point was to give you a mount without costing as much, wasn't it?).

I don't know much about Paladins and I don't generally follow their patch notes since I don't play one, but I think that quest is similar to the Warlock quest, which does give the skill. Unless I was looking at obsolete information when I was researching it a few months ago.

Brought Nixxe into The Watch today, hope that was okay. KotC is going through a bit of a meltdown, which is sad, but it is not the same place anymore. We lost our GM about a month ago, and things have gone downhill ever since.

And I'd rather chat with all of you anyway. :P

Excellent.

Thanks to Sorus' generosity, I can now make shield spikes: yet another source of damage on block that'll stack on top of the stuff I already have, hehe.

Enjoy!

Me, I got new armor today. Yup, traded in my pink skirt.. for a... lavender skirt.

JUST the thing for dungeons, not to mention PvP. They're gonna run when they see me coming... "Oh, look out - it's a pastel Warlock with a big scythe!"

In totally unrelated news, I wish they'd put in another stable slot. I want a Thunderlord Dire Wolf, but I don't want to tie up my swing slot because I will need it for training up my cats in the next expansion... which seems a long way off, but it would mean abandoning a pet when it comes, and I hate doing that.

[edit to avoid double-posting] Well, this is depressing. KotC basically fell apart. Last month we had almost 700 members, and the officers decided that since the GM has not had time to play, that is was too much work. Now all the officers but one have left and formed a new guild, and the remaining officer just informed me that the guild will be disbanded in two weeks.

I feel that what happened was a very extreme solution to the problem, but on the other hand, I was not an officer and would not have wanted to be one. Still, it's a sad day. I was a member there for a year, and made many friends... I could probably join the new guild, but after looking at the roster, most of my friends aren't there and seem to have scattered.

So anyway, epic-geared level 70 LFG.

With my life situation the way it is - working 16-hour days and all - I do not have the time that raiding guilds want you to be able to commit.

Is it okay with everyone if I bring Storm in?

That would make almost 1/4 of the people in the guild me. 8O

Bring in Storm!

I'd like to ask my friend in the guild as well. He transfered his character over from another server, a lvl 70 NE hunter. I explained why earlier. I don't know if he did a lot of raiding there. He does spend a lot of time on the battlegrounds and doing daily quests.

Yeah, that's mainly what I do these days... okay to solo, more fun with friends...

I will bring Storm in if it's okay with everyone.

Meh... broke down and got one of the wolves. Probably a bad idea in the long run since hunters have been bugging Blizzard for more stable slots since time began.

I will burn that bridge when I come to it, the world won't end if they can't learn the next level of bite.

I'm sentimental about my pets. We've been through a lot together.

OH HELL YEAH!!! Stormblaze and Nixxe!! hell yeah!! RIGHT ON!! sorry about your guild Sorus but proud and glad to have you on The Watch, in any form!

thanks to the guild and/or Sorus' well touted generosity i have an elekk now. he's kinda slow but he's very cute. he has wise eyes.

i will lag behind a bit for the next few days as the final final is coming up
on tuesday. i see deva has zoomed past me now as well. *sniff*

i'll catch up after tuesday!!

in other news, i saw some horde guys in booty bay tonight. two guys from Legends. they were sort of mini raiding party of two and one of them had a cat. i watched them for a while. great gear and the two of
them plus the cat fought well together. one was an orc hunter and the other was a tauren shaman. really cool looking.

can we go watch arean fights at the arenas?

Heh, just checking. I figured it probably wouldn't be a problem. Someone did boot my Priest awhile back - no hard feelings and I'm sure it wasn't personal - and I decided I was not Priest material anyway.

Just didn't want to inadvertently commit a faux pas regarding too many alts or some such thing...

Heh. That was probably me. I've kicked a few people off who have been inactive for more than a week.
