Totally posed, heh. Showing off my snazzy new tabard and new wolf - which, at level 66, cannot handle Quel'Danas, so it's gonna be awhile before she's up to speed.

Sorry to hear about your guild Sorus, it was an awfully big one to go like that. Arathi Five O had about 250 accounts and there were a couple of splits, but only one that took officers. That one was bad, we lost the priest and druid class leasers, the warrior class champion, our website and ventrilo server in one fell swoop. It was a rough time but the rest of us picked up the pieces and we ended up better for it because we lost what had become quite a cliquey section of the guild. The problem is that once a few important people leave, others start jumping ship because they think the guild is going to fail.

It seems like an extreme course of action on the part of the officers though. Taking a guild apart and putting it back together is always harder than it sounds, good people are almost always being courted by other guilds and a lot of them won't rejoin because of the instability. Surely it would've been better to get the GM to swap places with one of the officers? I'm sure he'd have agreed if it would've kept the guild intact.
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

I'm in a frustrating grind right now. I have the quest with bugs - "Curse of The Tides", and I have to collect Skullsplitter Troll tusks. I've tried three separate times on the "Curse" quest. What's supposed to happen doesn't when you do it. I'd have abandoned it by now if not for the fact that it gives a great blue cloak. As for the troll tusks, I collected one set of tusks after 6 trolls - I need 18 sets. Err.

Had a good time questing in Western Plaguelands with Sorus last night. We killed a few Elites, including the level 61 Elite undead that stands in the middle of Andorhal with lots of guards around him.
I'm at level 57 now, not far to go until Outland...

That was my thought as well. I was not present when all of the officers left, so I am not certain of exactly what triggered the exodus. The GM had not been present much over the last month or so, but things were running smoothly in his absence and as far as I know, he did (and does) intend to return. However, he will be joining the new guild. Which makes no sense to me. I was never into the politics. Anyway, at the time I left, there was one officer left. Many would have followed him (myself included), but he is going through RL issues of his own and does not have time. The temporary GM is a seldom-played alt of one of the officers that is leading the new guild. If it had been in my hands I would have booted the troublemakers and instituted a slightly less open policy for joining in an attempt to keep out the kids who join expecting free access to the bank and endless dungeon runs from the high-level people. Cut out the drama before it starts. Even though we had several problems in that area recently, I do not believe those issues were capable of destroying the guild. In fact, I can't think of any single issue or even combination of issues that could have caused the end result. I am guessing that some people left, and those remaining decided that they were not going to be the ones stuck with the problems. And things just spun out of control.

Anyway, I think that I have gained more than I lost as I can now be fully devoted to The Watch. There is no group of people I would rather talk with. In fact, I think adding a Vent account one of these days would be an excellent idea. Anyone else have thoughts on that matter?

When I logged on yesterday, I couldn't really get any enthusiasm up for questing, so I just did a quick "talk to ___" quest with Timkins then logged off. Back on later today, though, and looking to hit 58.

Meh. I read that the key to Scholomance was connected to Araj the Summoner. (After we killed him, of course. It didn't give any specifics on the quest.)

If that's the case we might want to consider going back as both of our epic mount quests are in Scholo.

If not, I personally think killing him once sufficed.

Nah. The two quests--Araj, and the key--were both unlocked by finishing the "light the watchtowers" quest, but they're not connected. The reward for killing him is this trinket.
The key to Scholomance quest wants me to collect skeletal fragments.

Edit: spoke too soon. The final part of the Scholo key quest chain is killing Araj.

Congrats on hitting 58!

I figure we can go back at 60 - be much easier. Unless you want to get it over with before then, or you find a party before I can play again. (Ugh, it's ONLY Wednesday.)

I'm planning to get rid of all my Azeroth quests (well. All but the dungeons.) over the next couple of days so I can move on to Outland, so taking him at level 60 on the weekend is fine.

Scholomance is looking like a good run, actually; there's a set of Paladin armour drops in there, which I can then upgrade to an even better set.

Keep in mind that Outland green items are superior to Old World epics. The gear you get from basic quests on Hellfire Peninsula is going to be better than Scholo drops.

Though as to drops in Scholo, I have seen more nice BoE stuff drop there than anywhere else in the game. Don't know if that's typical, or if I have just had very good luck. BoE world-drop epics twice, and I have not been there that many times.

Sorting through the screenshots I've taken while playing but not done anything with.

Image
A few of us got together in Stormwind a while back for the first Watch group pic, but none of the pics got posted! Here's the only one I got that came out well. (The hard part was trying to catch Altaire when her paw wasn't stuck through Irvea's chest.)

The Pink Underpants Gnomes dance for cash outside Stormwind bank. Shortly afterward, they paid for their guild, then all ran off into Elwynn to kill Hogger.

And finally, my screen during a typical fight. I can't even see the mobs I'm fighting (and to be honest, about to be killed by, IIRC).
