Thanks. I've never really like Tommy Lee Jones because he has such a "hard" look. I guess that's why I liked him for Lebbick. I don't like either of them so they fit together! :)

mmm .. curiously disturbing rationale   :P LOL ..

personally Tommy Lee Jones is 'The' Man!! I love that cold dry hardness he brings to his roles .. it makes him in things like MIB with Wil Smith and other less serious stuff work like a dream!!

I came up with a few more suggestions...

Julianne Moore for Theresa - I think she has the perfect coloring for Theresa.

Colin Ferrel for Geraden - cute and not type casted yet...haven't seen him do comedy but I think he could pull it off.

Ashley Judd and Charlise Therone for Myste and Elega
I think they look similar without looking alike...could pass as sisters.

Thoughts anyone...?

Okay well if this is starting to get a bit expensive, remember there is one cutback you can always count on.

I'm meant to look like Cary Elwes. I spose there's a slight resemblance, but my wife & step-daughter reckon spitting image, and a workmate said the same without prompting.

So if you want to save a few bucks ...

Ooops! My bad.

(LG bows to Danlo)

You know I can't think of his name but the guy that played Daniel Day Lewis's charcter's father in that movie "In the Name of the Father." He was also in "James and the Giant Peach" (yes I have kids) and a bunch of other movies too. I don't know his name but he has a very distinct face...anyway I picture him as Quillion.

Hello, Newbie here.

I've just finished MN for the second time in three months, and I've been thinking about cast characters for quite some time. For the longest time, I haven't been able to see Geraden as anyone else but Jude Law. But after watching Antitrust for the millionth time (the joy of digital cable, a few good movies and lot of bad ones over and over and over), I think Ryan Phillipe would be perfect. Something about Heath Ledger doesn't do anything for me as Geraden.

Also, I can see Sir Anthony Hopkins as either Joyse or Havelock. He certainly has those piercing blue eyes, and though he doesn't often smile genuinely, when he does it is very disarming!

Hey MacNik, Welcome on board :)

You know I had never thought of Anthony Hopkins...good pull. I think he could do Joyse but don't see Havelock.

Sorry but my brain is stuck on Jude Law...??? What has he been in?

Like Ryan Phillipe but not sure for Geraden....he's a little to pretty for how I pictured Geraden, but that's just me.

What did you think of Colin Ferrel for Geraden?

Ok, I just checked out a website for Jude Law...sorry, I don't see it. He's too slick looking.

I'm still holding firm on Colin Farrell for Geraden.

I agree with Goodman for the Tor. How about Mel Gibson (lethal weapon) for Havelok?

I read MN after I saw The Two Towers. I picture Joyse exactly like King Theoden was portrayed before Gandalf did that little "exorcism". I think that Actor's name was Bernard Hill. Anyway, did you notice how filmy and blue his eyes were? He didn't look too good!

I can't picture anything else for Joyse.
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror crack'd from side to side;
"The curse is come upon me," cried
The Lady of Shalott.

I personally think Adam Garcia and Keira Knightley would make a good Geraden and Terisa.....

What about Tobey Maguire or Wes Bentley as Geraden? Tobey may not be the classical hero type but he could portray the awkward and sensitive side of Geraden very well
Wes would be a nice Kragen, too, with a moustache

Queen Madin and King Joyse - the actress who plays James Bond's new boss would be perfect opposite Anthony Hopkins, if he was to play Joyse; If Sean Connery or someone else was to play Joyse, Susan Sarandon could play Madin

I definitely want Kevin Spacey and Ed Harris in there somewhere...maybe Spacey as Lebbick? Or as Terisa's father? I can even picture him as Eremis or an older Artagel
Don't laugh - I think Robin Williams would make a good Lebbick, too
And, of course, Tommy Lee Jones

Elega - Anne Heche!
Torrent - Jennifer Jason Leigh
Myste - Heather Graham
(They may all be a little too old though...)

Saddith - Christina Ricci (?)

Eremis (or Mr. Morgan) - John Malkovich, Kevin Spacey (?)

Domne - Ed Harris (?)

Just a few more suggestions. Tell me what you think of it. :)

BTW: I think Keira Knightley is a very good choice for Terisa. I couldn't think of any actress.
