Please don't put an exasperated tone of voice to this post, as I could see how it could be misconstrued, but I don't really care what we do as I just want to meet with you all. The only reason I'm trying to hammer out something of a plan is in case I need to do any research into any of this, but we could really do this on the net when people arrive, but that might discount some of my contacts. I just know how many people are coming, and know it will be a little chaotic without a plan and there might be people who might miss something they wanted to attend, but in this wonderful world of cell phones, hopefully that won't be an issue. With that said, my house is available for the weekend, but I wanna tag along wherever the people are, if possible. I'll see what I can do with the specific needs and so forth. Just adding that while I'm sure there are places to dance on Saturday night, Friday would be what I know about. If dancing is no longer on the table, then no problem. I just know it was mentioned to go out for the nightlife, and others wanted the nature. Just trying to appease as many people as possible, really. So I'll just chill and wait for the thing to get underway.

Hoooooboy, can't wait.

Seconded -- thanks for hosting, Cag! |G

Hmm. Now I'm torn. I'm not much of a clubber either, but I kinda would like to see what the Church is like, having walked past it all those times. Hmm. Urgh. Will likely decide spur-of-the-moment.

Artsy-fartsy and historical stuff: What Magickmaker said. The Denver Art Museum opened a new wing last year, designed by the guy who did the Experience Music Project in Seattle. I understand that *none* of the interior walls are plumb. They reportedly had a heckuva time figuring out how to hang the art. Anyhow, Magickmaker and I missed seeing this last year so we are definitely going this year, with or without y'all.

Also, hmm, isn't there a gold mine or something in Georgetown? Also, Buffalo Bill is buried in Golden, or there's a museum for him there, or both, or something. Golden, btw, is the home of Coors beer. ;) Oh! The Molly Brown House (as in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" who survived the wreck of the Titanic) is in Denver. It's kinda interesting if you like old houses.

And oh yeah, baby, Rocky Mtn. National Park in Estes Park is bee-you-tee-ful. Hmm, I wonder if the road up Mt. Elbert will be open when we're in town? It's one of the state's fourteeners (14,000 feet above sea level) and I believe you can drive to the top.

I am just a tad fond of the area.

Not me this time lady!

Some people dance, some are curious and some like to hang out and chat. I remember loving the Leadville area when I was out there in '74 some cool waterfalls and rock climbing areas. Boulder used to be cool, but I don't know now. I would rather hang and chat than go all over the place.

Only 2 weeks till I'm there: that way I can recover from driving and have a two hour meditation period to prepare myself for impending tsunami known as Menolly, and then hang with Jenn and Cov.

So, Luci, you play guitar. Is this line from the song about you: They say she plays guitar and cries and sings... la la la la ;)
 yeah me and joni!!
Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" was said to be written about Robert Plant and Jimmy Page's infatuation with Joni Mitchell, a claim that seems to be borne out by the fact that, in live performances, Plant often says "Joni" after the line "To find a queen without a king, they say she plays guitar and cries and sings". Jimmy Page uses a double dropped D guitar tuning similar to the alternative tunings Mitchell uses.

I was surprised you said nothing when I mentioned it earlier. I still appreciate your help last time...

I'm thinking mayhaps I should look for a walking stick, if there is no marked trail or railing or something in areas we wish to go. I could bring my bo staff for the purpose, but...that doesn't feel right to me...

Jenn, I am going to start packing my suitcase this weekend, and I need to know what kind of clothes to pack for activities in San Fran. Also, will it be hot, or do I need to pack a light jacket for when the sun goes down? Inquiring minds want to know. :P

It's gonna vary. I would pack jeans and t-shirts and a light jacket and a heavy sweater or sweatshirt. The evenings can be chilly especially if it gets windy. SF is perched between a massive bay and the ocean so the water cooled air can get very chilly when it picks up. Also I would pack some hair ties or something to pull your hair back out of your face for the windy moments. Especially if we do any wharf sightseeing. But most important of all, don't forget the Moose treats for friendship bribery. OH and you will be staying with BGB so be prepared for bird bonding too. Bird loves popcorn.

yeah sometimes when yer just standin on the streetcorner waiting for a walk sign it can feel like yer standin on the prow of a very large boat going very fast!!! 8) we are not that far from the windiest point on the pacific rim.

the key is layering. ;) sweater weather. there is no summer and winter here. only spring and fall.

Well...I'm looking forward to a bit of warmth. It's been about 14 degrees here the last couple of days (about 57 f.). brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh and I've just realised that this time next week I'll be sitting in an plane somewhere over the pacific! O.M.G! 8O
