Donaldson and Cliffhangers

Post by Rigel »

So, I was thinking after Runes and Fatal Rev that Donaldson has now succumbed to "Cliffhanger-itis", but I've just finished the first two GAP books, and can see that this tendency is a bit older than I expected :)

(Although, didn't The Mirror of Her Dreams also have a cliffhanger ending?)

Anyway, I haven't started the other three books yet, but I have to say...

OH

MY

GOD!!!

That being said, I have two main questions. I don't really want them answered here, since I'll find out when I read the other books, but I still have to say them!

1) How many times does Morn have to save Davies from Nick only to have him recaptured and threatened with sale to the Amnion?

2) WHAT the HELL did Warden Dios change in Angus' programming?!?!?

That second one really intrigues me more than the first; especially with Warden's little dialogue as he makes the change. This guy is my new favorite character :)

Good questions, and you'll have fun discovering the answer to number two in due course. 8)

I'm soooo jealous. I wish I could be put into a state where I didn't know the answer to those questions again. It's an awesome read the third or fourth time even, but that first one.... ahhhhh......

I'm rereading the Gap right now (I'm early in book 4) and it's awesome! (again!)... and I've forgotten so much of it that it's almost like reading it new :)

Yeah, apparently I have forgotten much about this series as well. I made it about halfway through Order and Chaos, but for some reason, can't remember a whole helluva lot about anything, other than names, and that a bit or two about Angus...

will have to dig up the old books again and have another go at it. Might as well do something while I'm waiting for AATE....

I don't mind cliff-hangers when I know it's a series...I'm just a glutton for anticipation I guess...it's when they're supposed to end but don't that kills me.
