I have the great fortune of having a comic book geek father who really loves Moore. He has (almost) the entire series. For those who don't know, it was an early Moore comic series which took the British 50's knock off of Captain Marvel (Marvelman) and re-invented him. The series has obtained infamy for a number of reasons.
1) Both Moore AND Gaiman wrote for it.
2) Issues 9 and 15 contain extremely graphic imagery of birth and violence. (respectively)
3) No one is really sure who actually owns Miracleman.
4) Gaiman is fighting hard for the rights with none other than Todd McFarlane, who claims ownership of Miracleman. (The legal quagmire is far deeper than that even.)
5) The series has been out of print *and* incomplete for nearly 20 years now.
Is it good? It's beyond good, its a marvel. (No pun intended). Perhaps *because* Eclipse was such a small time publisher, Moore got away with stuff in the 80s that makes even me, a jaded child of the 21st century cringe.
I have one major problem though, my Father is missing the infamous 15th issue. I have never known this kind of frustration before. The internet typically puts all media in the known universe at my fingertips, and I can think of NO way to just *read* this issue without having to shell out 400 dollars to buy it. (Which I just plain cannot and will not do).
Does anyone know ANY way to read issue 15?!
