I brought metal gear solid 4:guns of the patriots yesterday, and as a long time fan of the series, I love it. I think its got the charm of the first game, the story of the second and the feel of openess that the third game had.
Anybody else got it yet, what do you think?

Well I've beaten it. Not really a spoiler, but it does reveal the overall pace of the game:

There were a few places where I shed some man tears, a few that were unintentionally funny, reminding me that video games still have a ways to go if they want to be like great movies/books. I'm impressed with the game's 1st half, which felt the most unique, whereas the second was more linear and nostalgic (you go an old location, and you hear a lot of old quotes from other games and music, but it's done so well I forgave it). The cinematics became more prominent near the end, too, but again, they were of such caliber that I was riveted.
