Most wanted game of 2008?
What 2008 game do you want to get your hands on most and why?
For me its fable 2, becuase if its like what the developers say it like, its amazing. Something like 400 million blades of grass and leaves, all animated individually.

I never played Fable, so I'm unsure if I want to get Fable 2 or not. Peter Molyneux has reavealed some amazing information about it, but I'm conscious that I struggled to play Oblivion consistently and fantasy RPGs don't always hold my attention.
My number one most wanted for 2008 is Fallout 3, although I played the demo of Civilization Revolution the other day and I think that's going to be one of the stealth hits of the year.

I want more Rock Band. I'll take Guitar Hero 4, even though I don't want to have to upgrade everything.
Other than that, a title on the Wii that will truly justify me buying it. So far, my girlfriend enjoys it, but I'm looking for the one that makes me go, "Okay, now I understand spending that kind of money."

As long as they don't have any orcs with cultured british accents, I'll try to be forgiving.

Reminds me of a PA joke when it first came out that Bethesda was making Fallout 3. "It's just gonna be Morrowind with guns!... Actually now that I think about it that sounds pretty awesome."Lord Foul wrote:I agree on the last two, but I'm unsure whether Bethesda is going to stay true to Fallout's RPG roots or make it into an adventure game, like Oblivion.Rigel wrote:Fallout 3.

From what Ive seen they seem to really *get* fallout, and are trying very hard not to depart from what makes it so special. (No pun intended) The bloody mess trait will be in the game, and the collectors edition ships in a vault-tech tin lunchbox. (With a Vault Boy bobblehead!) They wanted to include a bottle of Nuka-Cola and an Iguana-on-a-stick, but apparently shipping food with a video game opens a legal bag of worms.
Whatever the game ends up being, I am sure It will be loads of fun. (And everyone who has touched the game so far says that it's awesome!)

That really bugged me about Oblivion, they must've used six voice actors tops, if you include Patrick Stewart. I'm sure Mass Effect had some actors playing multiple parts, but I never noticed them (the Volus all sound kind of similar) and it never really jarred like it did in Oblivion.Rigel wrote:As long as they don't have any orcs with cultured british accents, I'll try to be forgiving.

There are times we need to tell our partners, if it is a real and honest passion, that we want this for our own happiness. The compromise you need to make and actually stick to is that you won't let it consume your life. That's how I've handled this in the past. I still play videogames, but mainly when I am not ignoring her for long hours and especially when she is out of the house. It is a compromise that I feel is worth it.

As long as I keep up on my end of the housework, and don't neglect her, I find that Kim's pretty accepting of my playing video games.
Actually, she's more accepting of the XBox than PC games, since you're out in the living room and not so isolated.
My biggest problem is that my parents never approved of my playing video games, so to this day I have a secret guilt over them, and feel the irrational need to hide them.
